How about in a chair, in the window of a furniture store while waiting for someone who was shopping?

Post CPAP, after babysitting a drunk friend (i.e: preventing him from getting on the motorcycle and drivinf away by staying awake sitting in front of it til dawn) I had to ride the 150 miles home. The last two miles of highway before home, i almost rear ended a car with my BIKE when I fell asleep.

Stop light sleeping became old hat, I fell asleep at a stop SIGN waiting for traffic to clear.

I also would sleep through staff meetings but since I already had the diagnosis but was waiting for surgery they would give me a pass.

Truly I thought I was the worlds greatest sleeper cause I could sit down and sleep anywhere. I would regularly fall asleep in the waiting room of the clinic and the nurses knew who I was so they would tap me on the shoulder.

Max time in a car before falling asleep while driving was 2 hours after the stat of the trip then every hour after that. Now i can go 8-10 hours with just gas and convenience stops.

About 15 years ago before I either had sleep apnea or at least I was diagnosed a friend of mine who had sleep apnea fell asleep on the interstate while I was in the passenger seat. We were just starting a slight left hand curve. There was a box truck broken down in the emergency lane or shoulder on the right which we were headed straight for so I grabbed the wheel and yanked up to swerve left to avoid rear ending this parked truck. This sudden jolt woke my friend up just in time for him to notice the truck we had almost hit. He explained he had sleep apnea, not treated obviously. About 15 years later a doctor advised me to go to a sleep study because he suspected I might have sleep apnea, I could not get to the sleep lab fast enough.

I dozed off while driving in traffic alone--woke up just before clipping a curb.
Scared the holy CRAP out of me.

I can't credit the Navy but I used to do that

how about during labor when the surgeon was talking to me about an emergency c section to keep the baby from being to stressed. .. that sent up red flags to the doc who had me in a sleep test that night. (in 1995)

They used to tease me saying I had a button on my back, cause anytime I sat down I fell asleep.
My ob/gyn said it was my pregnancy. Boy was he wrong. lol

I fell asleep while painting with a brush on a rolling scaffold. Come to think of it I did it more than once.
