I'm a pastor, currently serving two struggling churches that can't afford a pastor on their own. We're looking at ways to try to regenerate them both. In addition, because I have one kid in college and another who graduated a year ago but is still looking for decent employment (needing help with student loan repayments) I moonlight for a home healthcare agency. Sometimes because of sleep deprivation I'm automatically offering to help my shut-ins with stuff that a pastor doesn't normally do so I'm hoping to be more awake and alert soon.

Worked in Healthcare IT for a while as an engineer/consultant. Travelled a ton. Did some project management work after that and will start a new challenge soon ... Recently I have been (un)employed as a full time couch potato and have been having a well needed rest!

Retired now, but did research at U. of Louisville. Genetics and psychology, focusing on the study of Williams syndrome and other syndromes that cause developmental delay. It was interesting and worthwhile work.
Still glad every morning not to have the commute and often long hours. Don't miss working at all!

I'm a recently retired government scientist (toxicologist, chemical emergency response mostly).
Currently? Part time science consultant, and full-time builder of an airplane in my garage.
I second the notion that the folks hereabouts have some diverse and interesting lines of work.

What do I do for a living
Well, to live I must eat, so I forage for fruit and leaves, I like to eat in the morning.
To stay alive I must do what my Mum taught me, which is to stay away from the nasty tigers, jaguars and crocodiles.
And for fun, I like to swim.
