this was brought home to me the other morning when I looked at my data for the night before. At one point in the night I woke up on my back, and the next morning when I checked my data I had an hour where OSA was almost a solid line - so many apneas you didn't see individual events. I happened to wear my pulse oximeter to bed that night also and that chart showed my 02 for that same hour to be a series of serious ups and downs, going down to 87 at one point - it looked like a mountain range!
I mostly use the Hybrid but occasionally switch to the FitLife.

The Quattro did not work for me;--my nose or chin are not large enough--(and my mother said I was perfect);
Likewise the LIberty; though better because although chin farts were a problem, no air blew in my eyes,
--but the hard shell is too wide for my small face, and I couldn't sleep on my side without dislodging the mask.
Does anybody know how the shell width compares between Liberty and Hybrid? (small size)
Also the chin height? Still looking for the ideal mask for my weird little face.

The Hybrid comes with 3 sizes of oral cushion...I wear the small. If I lose enough my excess wt, I'm gonna start seriously campaigning for a petite -- I already advised them they should add a Petite oral cushion, I'd pay extra for that size! Because the cushion is what touches your face, the width of the shell isn't so important. I have not dislodged mine when I slide around on my pillow side sleeping. Chin height? Err, the size of the silicon oral cushion should handle some variety of chins tho some cut the chin flap off...I need it to stablize the mask on my face. It's a good mask...give it a try.

I've tried the Quattro, Quattro FX. Hybrid, HAns Rudolph, and a few others mentioned in the poll. I was just recommended to try the Fisher and Paykel 431 (the older model) by my DME (one of the good ones). This one has been the best FF mask for me yet. Comfortable, light and very few leaks. Finally!

Love my Hybrid so much I now have two! With the ability to trade the cushion and pillows I have accumulated 5 sets of the size I need. I think I am good for a year or two . Anyone need size small cushion and pillows...I have 2 sets to trade for mediums My ahi is consistantly between 0.0 & 0.5 and my leak line is usually flat. Love the Hybrid.
cheers

I use the PR ComfortGel FFM and love it. It was the second mask that I tried - after an unhappy 3 day use of the ComfortFull 2. I also tried the FP Forma and Quattro and each time switched back to my ComfortGel.
I have found that the cushion does wear out and need to be replaced after 4-5 weeks. This was something that my first DME insisted should not happen and that my insurance coverage would not cover more often than once every 6 months (ie., when a completely new mask set with headgear would be covered). After some education here I switched and found a wonderful DME who actually stocks replacement parts and has a helpful RT who is himself a hosehead. Now that I can easily replace parts as they wear out and affect leakage I'm a happy hosehead with an average AHI of 0.8.

i can't remember if i already posted on this thread, but anyway... I've tried the Quattro, UMFF, various F&Ps, Comfortgel full, comfortfull something, and the liberty. All of them were horrid, except for the Comfortgel full (but I needed a medium surprisingly). I recently spurlged and got the new Quattro FX, expecting it to be not much different from the standard Quattro. While i have some complaints about the interface, in general i've found it to be the consistently best sealing FFM out there for me, and it's very comfortable too. And it's NOTHING like the original Quattro.
One caveat is that it doesn't seal when my face is dry, so I need to put a bunch of lotion on my fce before putting it on, but then it stays out the whole night. Also it's difficult to just reach in and scratch your nose - which i can do with most other masks - with the Q FX it blows the whole seal so i have to nearly take it off, scratch my nose, wait for the airflow to go down, and then put it back on again. Small price to pay for a well sealing mask. Third problem is that I think it's too big - i fell in between a small and a medium using their measurement guidelines, but appeared to be a small when i used the actual plastic measuring device that was delivered with the mask I ordered (which of course was a medium ). I probably would have been better off with the small. (i was nervous about ordering the small because with the comfortgel and the comforfull, i got smalls and they really were too small. why are their sizings so different???).

I don't remember the poll, but I've had both the Quatro and the Innomed Hybrid. I use the Innomed Hybrid now a lot more. I hold the pillows together with a rubberband because I cut them apart and the rubberband keeps them from ever leaking. It is now, bar none, the perfect mask!

Do you realize you can swap the pillows and cushions that you don't need for ones that you do need.
Go to THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE thread and you will see others that want to swap. For example I have 2 sets of size small pillows and cushions that I can't use ....so need mediums of both. I agree its the best mask available,
