I use normal bandage, taping my mouth vertically. I can release air pressure in my mouth if need to. I can cough ... No smelly painter's tape. I just find the cheapest bandage I can find. Works good.

For those that are using nasal masks as opposed to pillows, how are you keeping the mask from hitting the tape, thereby interfering with the seal?

I actually haven't had that problem even though the seal of the activa hits the seal. But I do put the tape horizontally and keep it low on my upper lip. Hope you get it figured out!

This is probably going to sound weird, but it works...

When I first started taping... I didn't have anything in the house besides black electrical tape I believe the brand name is Duck. So anyway, because I was so annoyed with my mouth opening I decided to try it... It's great! That brand doesn't leave any black marks, or have a weird smell... Because they are not very wide, I usually use 3 pieces. The first piece goes over both of my lips, the 2nd piece goes over the first piece but a little higher, under my nose, and the 3rd piece goes lower, below my lower lip... In the morning, it comes right off, never any red marks, no irritation. I've been using it for almost a year now... I may eventually try the painters tape or something along the lines of that just because everyone talks about it. But I figured i'd give you my suggestion... Yes it's weird to see someone with black electrical tape on their mouth, but if it works then who cares right? lol

Good luck on your tape hunt
