Great. That figures. Ever notice that everything nowadays seems to be a battle? So be it. I'll post what happens.

No matter what they say keep comparing it to a diabetic without a glucose monitor. You need to know your AHI and what is happening in order to maximize your therapy. Diabetics don't go to a doctor once every 6 months to find out their glucose levels.

The H4i fits all S8 models.

Okay, good results. The DME place agreed to switch out the machine for the S8 Elite II. Now, I've read the booklet but don't see how I would know what the readings are. It looks like I can only download them onto the removable card and forward it to the doctor. Am I missing something?

You should be able to find and download the instructions from this site:

Don't mean to be hard-headed, but these instructions seem to be for how to change settings, not for seeing the details of the therapy?

To quote Roster: "No, all that machine does is record the hours of use - worthless information for monitoring your therapy.
Everyone should have a machine that reports efficacy data. That is things like number of apneas, hypopneas, snores, flow limitations, mask leak, machine pressure adjustments, etc."
So how do I get this info from the S8 Elite II?

Tabcourt, if you have the S8 Escape II Auto the most equivalent machine with full data is the S8 AutoSet II...autos use a range of pressures that varies all night long depending on your breathing. CPAPs are set to a single pressure.
The Escape comes in several versions: straight CPAP, CPAP with EPR, and an Auto with EPR. None of them give you full data, mostly just compliance to prove you're actually using it.
