I would respectfully submit that "not showing the slightest interest" and "strongly challenging" are two entirely different things.

I dunno. You ever been to Singapore?

"Doc, my sleep troubles are having a profoundly negative impact on my quality of life. For that reason, I was wondering if there would be any problem with my trying another SSRI just to see if that change could improve my sleep. Or is there some overriding medical principle that would make that a bad idea for some reason in my case?"

Muse, BB,

on the frequent awakenings, I just had that a few nights ago, right before a big interview. I was REALLY stressed out about it the few days beforehand. I went to bed at the normal time, even took a Sonata, and I woke up the whole night. Not merely "arousals" but full blown wake-ups, the WHOLE time. Finally got out of bed after 4 hours. I soooooo sympathize with you now.

I wonder how much of your mental stressors really are causing some of the nightly wake-ups... the adrenaline / cortisol created from the stress shouldn't be underestimated, perhaps. Have either of you had cortisol levels checked?

Actually on that note, one of the alternative medicine theories is about adrenal fatigue due to chronic stress. It even seems to be linked to (da da da) hypothyroidism! http://thyroid.about.com/cs/endocrinolo ... atigue.htm

Most threats come from behind.

Although some swim up from deep beneath the moat.

Which MOAT you talkin' 'bout Rebecca? Currently we've got another 67 replies (66 with this one to go before we even reach the #4 top MOAT.

Better get crackin' -SWS

HOWEVER, if we look at the post with the most number of replies over the total lifetime of the thread, from the threads in the top 5 MOATs, this thread IS #1

Congrats BB, you've created a monster
