Thanks for the picture!!!! Where in Minn??? I don't think its a CASE OF POP OR SODA, MAYBE A CASE OF BEER!!!!!!! As far as the weather, I went biking last week (temp around 38 degrees), froze my BUNS OFF!!! Do you think I ought to outfit my bike with skies instead of tires??? Maybe I could get a heated bike seat to keep my buns warm!!!

Vernors is a regional version of ginger ale. People like me use cases of it to gain entry to homes of people who have moved away and have become desperate to satisfy their addiction. It can induce hugs, kisses, and even free meals or alcohol! (Gender specific on some of those!)

Back where I started (see post above) I think I recall most of us, especially old timers, in the region/neighborhood calling it soda pop. Unless it was "The Real Thing", Coke. The other colas, Pepsi and Royal Crown, were also rans.

Born in Chicago, have spent my life within 40 miles of the city. For the record, when I was a kid I called it "pop". Somewhere along the line it just started sounding dumb to me so it's been "soda" ever since.

Oh, and on the tennis shoes vs sneakers question; everyone I know calls them gym shoes.

Speaking of regional accents, I live about 20 miles from the Wisconsin border. I had a job for a few years where half the people I worked with were from the other side of the "Cheddar Curtain". One difference I noticed was that Wisconsin folks seem to pronounce a long A in words that I wouldn't. For example, the word "back" would be pronounced more like "bake". Somewhere along the way I noticed that I had picked that up in my own speaking. I still catch myself at it, especially since my company has three plants up in Packer Country that I have to occasionally travel to.

I also took the "What kind of rocker are you" quiz. The quiz says that I'm a "Chick Rocker".

15 years of playing bass in a heavy metal band playing Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, WASP, etc. and my answers point to chick music? I don't think so.
