Gee, the "dreading sleep" and "the whole thing is just plain intolerable at the moment" plus the need to switch the type of blower -- wow, you have my sympathy! One is bad enough but all 3? No wonder you're not sleeping well. I've recently had a few nights of the OMG, I can't handle this anymore, 'this' being sleeping with equipment for the rest of my life...then I remember the dangers of untreated apnea and how I felt pre-CPAP and I keep reminding myself that the equipment enables me to survive sleeping. It's not a 'cure' but it helps with the high level of frustration, even frustrating therapy is better than no therapy. In my case, those nights occurred as pollen season was gearing up and my congestion was wrecking havoc with sleeping well, Hybrid mask notwithstanding .

Perhaps subconsciously you wish you did not have to wear the mask and be bothered with the whole process. Or you are not happy with your current therapy that could be manefesting itself in your annoyance at things that did not used to bother you?
I am sure as in all things it will come to pass and you will move on.

A triple play of troubles....sounds about right!

Like you, I also remember "Pre-Cpap" and I will NOT go back to those days. I'm a HoseHead for life.

You're absolutely, 100% right!
I know that's the case, BUT....I flat out REFUSE to let my subconscious mind control my life. I'm a stubborn S.O.B. about it too! My conscious mind is in charge of things, and if my sub-conscious doesn't like that fact, TOO BAD!

I definitely go through cycles. I might have absolutely no problems with my sleep or my cpap for months and months. Then all of a sudden, it bugs the heck out of me. As was mentioned, it might have something to do with the alignment of the celestial bodies!
Our bodies are very sensitive, complex organisms and I think our bodies respond to things that we aren't even aware of.
Hang in there, it will get better again.
I also have noticed that I have to be really, really tired to not be irritated with my mask. If I go to bed having eaten too late, or had too much caffeine or excitement, then I can never tolerate my mask. What I do on those nights is go to bed without it, and when I wake up in an hour or 2 (which I usually do), I put the mask on then, and go right back to sleep.
I find that eating in the evening makes me much less tolerate of the mask.
