very hard to breathe with it on my nose. its only on my nose , no mouth.
if i put it up to my mouth ican feel a lot of pressure.
i had a deviated septum removed. the ent doc says everything looks clear.
my ears also feel blocked.
i was wondering if i should go to my sleep doc and askto increase the pressure. im running out of ideas and money with all this.

The idea is to use the lowest possible pressure that eliminates apnia incidents. Increasing the pressure when you don't need it will do more harm than good. If you had a sleep study you should be using the pressure it indicated. Mask problems don't necessarily mean you need more pressure.

You don't say what pressure you are on. Double of 2 is 4 .. the double of 8 is 16 the double of 12 is 24.. i.e. DOUBLE is a really bad way to look at this. Sorry to be short ..

Hi,
Have you tried a full face mask? If you have issues breathing through your nose, maybe breathing through your mouth will work. I have historically had a very hard time breathing through my nose due to being plugged up with allergies. As a result, I went with a full face mask and breathed through my mouth. Later, a solution was found to my allergy problem, so I am now using a nasal pillow mask. Everyone is different, so you need to find what works best for you.

I would like to suggest everyone read the Original Poster (OP's) original thread and the responses to it before responding to this one.

I'm sorry to not be much help in the area of alternatives, but I'm wondering if during the time you've been on cpap with these 4 masks you've had help with knowledgeable methodical detailed trouble shooting of your cpap and mask problems. Doubling your pressure (unless it is already very low as mentioned before) would not fit into that description of troubleshooting, and would almost surely result in further failure to resolve your issues, just in a different way. If making cpap treatment work is something you are still open to, and it seems you are since you asked a pressure question, you might want to start with listing your machine and pressure and the specific problems you are having with one mask at a time. Nothing wrong with seeking other solutions if one means of treatment is not working, but there will likely always be something to adjust to, and it might be easier to not just ship prematurely. I gave up on cpap when everything seemed to be going wrong. Turned out I just needed some competent guidance to make it work for me, as I didn't have a clue about these things. Hope you figure things out so your treatment can meet your needs.
