ResScan 3.10 is outdated version. Most recent version is 3.16. Go back to first page of this thread and look for a post from Uncle_Bob and look in his signature for the link.

BoomersRock wrote:New to Auto Machine Question: if you have an auto-adjust machine, why would you need to change the range for the upper and lower points? For instance, my CPAP pressure should be 13.
If you start too low, you may be uncomfortable until the pressure comes up to the proper therapeutic pressure. The machines usually only increase pressure slowly, a point or two a minute, so you may suffer from apeneas for a while as it adjusts upward once you fall asleep.

Some people are disturbed by the pressure changes and are simply happier with a smaller pressure range, or even on manual.

If the pressure changes too much, your mask may leak. You put the mask on, turn on the machine, adjust for leaks at the starting pressure. Then you fall asleep and it starts leaking.

Sometimes, you don't find a single "right" pressure. You may have some small number of apneas at pressure "x". Increasing the pressure may not actually improve your apnea, but the machine may keep trying to increase the pressure. It may "run away" and go to a very high pressure. You suffer from the side effects of a higher pressure, but don't get any health benefit. In this case, it makes sense to limit the upper pressure.

Some people develop central apnea with higher pressure. Your apnea may get worse above a certain pressure. You may have to find a compromise that gives you adequate control of obstructive apnea, but doesn't cause too many centrals.

Need a ResSCan guru to help me

I've been using a CPAP/BiPap since 1995 and ResScan software for the last 5. I usually check it daily and get full detail but I didn't last week and found myself with only the last 2 days of detail and prior days with a summary. What am I doing wrong? Can I leave the card in all week and then expect full data on it???

Please do two things. First search the forum for Resscan and "data" or "no data." This issue has been discussed several times. Second, if you can't the answer start a new topic. Your question is going to get lost here.

Yeah, I wonder about their thought processes also (or lack of thought processes). Gee if I am searching for something and I stumble on a thread where there has obviously been a lot of discussion about what I am searching for....I start at page one and start reading to see if someone found an answer or if someone says what I am searching for can't be found. Duh... I know some of it is likely ignorance but a good bit of it is just plain laziness and sometimes I am not in the mood to promote laziness or in the case here with a recent request, spam in signature line.

Yes. I started to delete it, but decided to err on the other side.

Yeah, me too. Figured what the heck, this thread gets resurrected fairly often anyway. If someone else wants to zap it, I sure won't care. Neither will I respond to a question from someone who registers for the sole purpose of being able to use the signature line for blatant spam. Not that they really wanted anything anyway.

I actually started on the first page looking, but I didn't think to look in the signatures. I eventually skipped to page 30, saw the "Go look here" found it and downloaded it. Didn't quite get to the point of asking, but I was on the way.

I just got my new CPAP and I would love to get that software to see how my apnea is....
Thanks

Hi there, just got a week trial on an S9 autoset first machine! Wow it feels weird, just used it today so far does it normally make your mouth really dry? I'm a mouth breather and think I'll have to ring about a humidifier as I've only used it for an hour or so while watching tv. Think the NHS change it after a week for a cheaper machine, when the S9 has done its business. Could I find out where the software is too? Thanks alot!

You didn't register so no one can send you the link but it shouldn't really be necessary. Read my post right above yours and you will find out where the link for the download is.
