Whoooooo-eeee! That is one hell-uv-a thread

Great forum, my thanks to all the helpful people who have posted the links and help for the software.

I was renting an S9 for a couple weeks until my own machine and h5i was approved. Old machine worked like a charm but the new machine is trying to suffocate me for the first 5 minutes as it only starts out at 4. The manual that comes with the machine would be great for a coaster, and that's about it. thanks to Bob for the clinical manual, which has TONS of excellent info in it. I found another link too:
discoverah DOT com SLASH pdfs SLASH manuals SLASH cpap SLASH S9-Series-AutoSet-Elite-H5i-Clinical-Guide DOT pdf

I would recommend anyone downloading or printing off a few of the pages for future reference. Great little document to help me sort out the pressures and settings.

My AHI ranges from .4 to 1.2 and I only use the machine to sort out a snoring issue due to chronic fatigue from chronic back pain, so the software would be a great way for me to check and see how my apnea/hypoapnea is actually faring, despite what the doctors say, who seem to be interested in just selling me some hardware.

Interestingly, when I called Resmed, the 2 women claimed there was no way a patient could access the software or a better manual, yet seemingly BOTH can be downloaded from their site AND a patient can actually access their software, wich is up to version 3.14, FYI. Just in case anyone is interested in upgrading

As for all the "I want software" posters, in my decades with computers, it's just laziness. People come in, don't search, don't read, post what it is they want, and the world is supposed to beat a path to their door with their demanded item/service. A very simple solution, is for the admins to take the relevant links, put them in a post, and make it a sticky, as I think it was suggested in a couple of the posts in this 27 page long thread.

Again, cudos to all the people who have helped out inquiring minds.

The version in Uncle_Bob's sig says that it doesn't work on Windows 7.

Any thoughts for how to get the Resmed S9 software in a version that works on Windows 7?

It must exist.

Sorry - I'm an idiot.

The software works fine on Windows 7.

The drivers included in the download don't.

BUT - apparently you don't need the drivers in Windows 7, 'cause a regular SD card works fine.

I don't have any SD cards that came with the unit - just using a regular old SD card.

Sorry, but maybe I'm an idiot too, but I thought the ResMed ResScan software only works with ResScan units.

I don't know - I'm so sleep-deprived today I'm not sure what I'm doing.

Here's what I know: I have an old SD card that came with a Devilbiss unit. Pretty sure it's just a standard SD card, though.

When I shoved it into the back of my Resmed S9, the S9 told me it couldn't read it and asked if I was cool to erase the data (and presumably reformat it). I said yes, and for a few minutes it told me to hang on.

After that the card worked and still works fine.

The Resmed software seems to have no problem finding and downloading the data from it, at least on Windows 7.

There are two further issues, covered earlier in this (or another) thread: you have to tell the software to download detailed data (which I've done) and you have to tell the Resmed S9 to record detailed data by turning on "sleep quality" (which I hope to remember to do tonite).

Sorry... I saw you had Intellipap in your signature before so that is is why I said what I did before. Ithought you were trying to use ResMed software with Intellipap.

It sounds like you have or will have everything correct, so hopefully tonight you will get what you need.

OK, so it turns out my machine HAS been set to "sleep quality on" all along. So it should be collecting all data.

BUT - I can't figure out how to see it in the Resmed Rescan software.

There's a setting to download ALL data, which I do, since it doesn't really take up that much space.

But no love in the report section - the icons on the left (next to the days) still just indicate summary data only, no detailed data.

And the "detail" tab across the top says "no data available" when I click it.

Any other suggestions to get it working?

I'm assuming you are opening your patient, then in the left side of the screen you will Browser with a list of dates? ARe you selecting one? If you click one you should see Statistics. At the top you will see Summary Graphs and Detailed Graphs. Select Summary, and you should see all the summary data. Select Detailed, and it will prompt you to load a date. Select OKay and you should be set.

Other question... have you read the manual on how to use the software as it tells you all of this. If you don't have a patient setup, that could be the big issue. I don't remember, but you may need to set one up first, and then download the data.

The S9 only writes detailed data when the card is in the machine, and it overwrites it every 7 days.
Here is the TUTORIAL FOR RESSCAN, thanks to DreamDiver.
