Snoring on CPAP

Post by Dino » Tue Aug 24, 2004 8:09 am

I too was snoring on cpap and told my sleep doc about it. She had me get with my homecare guy and he raised the pressure. Now I don't snore on the hose anymore.

It has been 3 years for me since my last sleep study. My doctor wants me back to have another torture session, but I feel so much better with the pressure raised up. Any suggestions?

Snoring

Hi all-Snoring, sounds familiar. My husband said I started snoring again after about 6 months on my cpap. I talked to dr. and had to admit I gained a little (hm, 10 pounds). All the rest of my life style was the same. So, he said loose some weight, or try a chinstrap, or even (ugh!) mask that would cover my nose and mouth-can you imagine my horror! But I did manage to loose some, and tried the chinstrap. It worked ok, and I am still trying to get rid of a few more pounds. Maybe a chinstrap would work for you.

Snoring/Chin Strap?Full Face Mask

Post by Apnatic » Sat Sep 18, 2004 9:06 pm

I too had been on "nose mask" for several years and for the past year my husband said I snored, my ENT ordered a sleep study for me this summer, it had been 5 1/2 yrs, since I had a study, and pow, I was breathing out of my mouth, so they put a chin strap on me with the nose mask, and pow then they put a full face mask on me and Finally, I stopped snoring, and got a new Full face mask, and a Resmed C-flex machine; after the first week was having "desert" mouth even with heated humidifier (a must with a full face mask) so my DME said try a chin strap, I did and I use one each night...what a site I am, but it has helped...I put on the chin strap then the mask, helps keep the strap in place....try the chin strap, and if it does not work you may need a FFM, Good Luck
