"Wonder from down under" I like that terminology! I got my heated hose yesterday. I used it for the first time last night. It is AWESOME. I had to use my FF last night as the allergies are acting up. I had the humidifier cranked up to 5 - the max - to the point where I ran out of water last night - and not one drop of water in the hose - only a few drops in the mask. Amazing. Even when the water ran out, it was nice ot have a warm dry air versus cold dry air coming at you. I highly reccommend it! I had no idea what I was missing for the past 7 months since starting cpap.

Probably not, since you need a 1000 amp output, and the right connector. All my old DC apdaptors only go up to 300 amp - and none had the right connector.

I keep all those old "wall warts" (transformers that plug in the wall) because ... well, I'm pack rat.

I just went digging into the old stock and found a 12V unit that would deliver 1amp (or close to it).

So, yes, you may be able to use some old DC adaptor.

For those that already have the heated hose....How long did it take to ship to the US? I placed the order Friday and they sent mine today (found out by e-mail). They mention 7-10 days, but I was looking for actual ship times from Down Under.

FWIW, I've been on CPAP only since June, and just started using the heater on the humidifier a week ago, as Chicago started to cool off. Started using the heated hose at the same time.

According to Encore, my index numbers are all noticeably and significantly lower since starting the heat (I always used the humidifier - unheated - before, and the numbers weren't bad).

Haven't had any rainout problems in the past, so I'm not quite sure why I'm getting better results, but I won't argue with success.

Sorry about that - I was the immediately preceding poster - gotta remember to log in!

It took about 2 weeks or so to get my heated hose. And, it was worth the wait!

I have yet to download data since starting the heate dhose. That sound like and interesting trend though - nu,bers going down. We'll have to see.

Will the snuggle hose work for minor rainout events?
With the cooler nights I am noticing it more. What about heating the room more? I read that bringing the hose over the headboard of the bed might help also.

Does rainout occur with the Swift?

It's better than nothing, but you will still have rainout with a snuggle hose.

Yes.

I wish the answers were more encouraging. But the truth of the matter is, the only thing I have found that will absolutely PREVENT rainout, is the SleepZone Heated CPAP tube.
