If it is correct...

THE S9 USES A POWER BRICK NOW!
LOL! I pointed that out earlier in the week, but since I'm not one of the "in crowd" I was ignored.
You did? I must have had a moment of lingering brain fog.

Fabio, thanks so much for answering our questions and sharing about your new machine!

tattooyu wrote:According to the data guide for the S9, the Sleep Screen Report does show AHI, AI and CAI. It looks like they omitted HI, but it probably wouldn't be very hard to calculate on the fly.

Thanks for posting that chart, tattooyu! I don't mind that the LCD may not show HI, as it can be easily calculated from the other numbers. What I find odd is that your chart shows that the S9 Sleep Report Screen reports AI, yet Fabio doesn't see that on his screen. I wonder if it needs to be "enabled" in order to display? Despite the fact that AI is shown in your chart, AI is not in this chart posted by DSM in another recent thread regarding the S9: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=48970&start=60. DSM's chart does show CAI, though, as yours does. AI is a very important number to me, and I'd be very surprised if it wasn't included.

Robmax, if it makes you feel any better, I did SEE your comments about the power brick in the other thread. I read the entire (very long!) thread, but I don't think I made any comments at all. (I was a "lurker" that day.) So your comments are appreciated, even if not always acknowledged! We all feel like that around here sometimes.

Hi all,
the display is actually very nice graphic color LCD but the information displayed are very few.
As I said the mask fit which is a sad red face or an happy green face
The number of hours used last night and AHI only (no HI AI)
That's it!
If you change page you get the number of hours used in the last day/week/month/3 month periods
Average daily usage
Total hours used
Number of days with usage>4 hrs/total number of days

That's all folks the show is over unless you download the SD card (yet to be accomplished due to lack of software)
Concerning the USB connection: could not find any standard USB connector (not surprisingly), there seems to be a flat strange looking 4 pin port. Obviously the cable is not included.

Finally the brick is actually there. It is not for the humidifier. It actually plugs in the flow generator which in turn powers the humidifier. It provides at least 2 different voltages (and the flow generator complained about the lack of one when the multipolar plug had not been fully inserted).

Cheers

Fabio

If it's quiet, I might have to have one. Looks a lot nicer than the Respironics PR1.

But it doesn't have the clock and mp3 like the new DeVilbiss.

And I HATE the power brick!!!!!! Must be an over-reaction to their recall of the S8s manufactured in 2006.

So what's it like filling the reservoir. The S8 is a simple flip lid with a reservoir that has channels that catch the over spill.

Do you have any pictures that you could post?

jmelby, question about your S8, what humidifier do you use? I have the S8 Auto II and my humidifier is the H4i, but when I went to the Clinical menu my machine said Humidifier H3i. How do I change this setting?

Severeena,
The software identifying the humidifier was developed and put on the machines before they developed the H4i. When an Autoset II senses a humidifier attached -- any humidifier -- it simply indicates H3i -- the only humidifier it knows.

O.

No, it's the cracked market research staff that each company has.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I'm think'n I'll just hold on to my S8s.

Will DME's lower prices on S8 stock prior to the arrival of the S9's, like car dealers? In fact, to the end user prices through DME's ever change through a product life cycle, making the S9 more expensive this year, cheaper next, etc?

Are you able to access the Clinical Menu to change pressure setting, ect. or does that HAVE to be done by your DME???

Hey, CarbonMan! Maybe Resmed hired some of Respironics mentally challenged design engineers. You think?

It sure looks like they took a couple of giant steps backwards. Two cords and a power brick for crying out loud!! Next they'll be adding a platform plate! Sheesh!

Slinky, it's a mystery to me.
The brick, the hose connection back to the back,
difficult access to the HH tank, reduced data at the LCD......WOW.
New software. When??? How will it be available???

All the features that make the S8 so convenient to use.

Well, CPAP equipment price offers do to at least some extent here in Oz..... but its a different healthcare delivery environment with (almost) entirely different financial drivers to that in the US.

I have just started with my journey through OSA as of this past week. I was issued an S9 and was surprised at the truthfulness of the information given to me about it by my respiratory therapist- it's a brand new machine, not even out on the market yet! I've been trying to find out how more advanced CPAP users have liked it and my search led me here to cpap.com. I'm glad there seems to be someone else out there who has one. Here's the question: My first few nights I had an AHI of 0, yes, 0- however the last two have been .2. I know this number is low, but do I need to think about changing any settings? or is this the way it should be? If SO---- Can I change the settings or do I have to contact my RT? I have the Autoset.

This newbi thanks you-
