I don't plan on leaving the charger attached unless it is charging.

My brother had a car battery explode into his face and arms last year. He was banging on the terminals with a flat head screw driver and hammer to get it off due to corrosion. Either he had something touch the two terminals or it just exploded due to banging. Luckily he didn't get burned too badly and it did get in his eyes. He didn't have to seek medical treatment.

I plan on getting some goggles, finding some heavy rubber gloves I have and leaving it in a ziplock bag near the battery. I could hear the water splashing inside of the battery as I was carting it around. I'll make a label sticker to remind me to wear safety equipment as well.

John I built my battery backup from your version one design and it works like a charm when needed. What's going to be different in version two?

For folks that have already built the unit, it won't be all that much different. But it will have:
  • More pictures
  • More information about DC to xPAP connections
  • More step by step instructions
  • Use of "packages" to minimize the pieces/parts to purchase
You get the idea. The same thing. A few simpler steps. More pictures to help readers along the way. And I'll be certain to review comments in this post to incorporate them into the V2 write up.
