Judy, we did not mean to make you angry and/or frustrated. Instead we were trying to help avoid possible confusion. If you have an old style system posted people might offer suggestions based on the old unit. You would go look at your unit and wonder what planet we were from, because the directions we provided just would not match your unit.
The suggestion to use text instead of pictures was also intended to make it easier to someone to just read the text description of your unit, instead of clicking through to find out which variant you might have.
But through all these suggestions we only want to help. My apologies if it made you frustrated / angry. That was certainly not my intent - nor of anyone else who is replying to your posts.
Hopefully you will journey will continue to go well and you will find lots of benefit from both this forum and your therapy. Best wishes!
Yes, I'm sorry to say that I am very fustrated. It makes no sense to put up the text, when it doesn't match the machine. When I first came on this board, I had the right machine picture and then I was told not to use the pictures. Well, a lot of good that did by using the "TEXT"! I fail to see what difference it makes weather it's the text or the the image. I think that should be left up to each person as to their preference's. That's why there are two types on the profile. Never the less, I won't bother coming back. I truly thought that the people here were different! Not like other boards, I guess I was wrong there too!

Judy,
For what it's worth, I like the pictures better than the text, too.

Den, In your case, pictures are OK because you also have the description in text. But some people just use the pics which calls for extra clicking before replying . So you know I have to ask, why do you like pics better?

There are deficiencies in both methods, but at least with pictures, a new user MAY be able to tell the difference by looking at the picture of the machine or other items in their profile. With the text, they probably don't know the difference between a REMstar Pro (2) and a REMstar M Series Pro......or, same thing with the Autos......and all the different ResMed machines. I've seen mis-matched (and wrong) equipment with both text and pictures. Most new users, for all intents and purposes, just haven't become savvy about their equipment when they start out or join the forum.
When I absolutely feel the need to cross-check a poster's equipment, I just right-click on the icon and select "Open link in new window".

So, why do you find it so hard to "click"??? I think it's all a matter of the person's preference. Half the time in other post's, people still ask what type of machine, or mask, etc.... at least with a picture, they can at least see a visual, the text is to small to read and I find it blends in with the post. So, I'm going to leave it at that! To each his own!!!

Judy, of course you can do what you like. But let me explain why I have I have a preference for text. 6 months of the year I live where we have a very slow internet connection....remember dial-up? I don't know cpap machines well enough to identify it from the picture, and whether it's cpap, apap, etc., and that makes a difference in how I might approach your question. So then I click...and wait...and wait...and wait.

Wow!
Judy, with all due respect, it seems obvious that you really
need this therapy. I hope you can calm down, stick around, and learn.

BB, that's what I was trying to do, and it's turned into what's better, text or picture. All's I wanted was to get some help with figuring out what the numbers meant from the data off of my card. I know I "need" this therapy, that why I came here in the first place! But, fighting over text vs. image is childish!!!! If no one wants to help me with the data from my card, that's fine, I'll just figure it out on my own. I have no problem with that. But, I'm not going to sit here and argue over text v. image!

Judy,
I was TRYING to help you......before the discussion got side-tracked. I felt (and still do) that I needed to know more about how your machine is configured. If we can get back to THAT, I will try my best to help.
By the way, the original numbers you posted aren't that bad. The instructions at the bottom of the other setup instructions I posted will reset your machine each day to allow a new set of numbers the next night. I don't know if you've been doing that or if the numbers you're looking at are for 7 or 30 day averages.

Yes, you must first have a prescription to obtain a CPAP machine - but after you OWN one, you are within your rights to do whatever you darn well please with it, including using it as a leaf blower, running it over with the family car, or... (oh no!) - changing your own pressure settings.

Judy, I hope you'll stay with us, we've got some of the best experts here wanting to help you and I'd like to offer my support as well. It's true we do tend to go off topic once in awhile as we're an active group with lots of opinions about everything, big and small, but no one's arguing with you about pics vs text. There's a mix of both here and we get along just fine. It was only mentioned to get the most information as accurately and quickly as possible so they can get you off to a good start without giving you any misleading suggestions that might not apply to your specific equipment. Best wishes, Dori
