comfort 2 full face mask....i have to say that i did feel slightly better in the morning than normal, so perhaps i am getting somewhere
i switched back to the nasal mask but forgot to insert the card so have no readings for last night, but i suspect that my mouth is open with this mask so may have to sort out a chin strap...will post results as card is now back

You're making good progress.......You might want to work extra hard on getting the leak line as "straight" as possible. If a straight leak line doesn't reduce the HI, you might then take Yawn Girl's advice and go to 8-cm on the low end.
Ultimately you may find that a nasal mask and mouth tape will provide the best results.

Malcomb, register (go to the User Control Panel in the light blue bar under the search field in the upper left) and enter your equipment using TEXT, that way everyone will know what equipment you're using so comments-suggestions are specific.
If you like using pillows but can't get a chinstrap to work for your mouth leaking (also check out the PapCap), you might investigate getting a RespCare Hybrid mask as it covers the mouth, has pillows, does not cover the nose, does not touch the forehead. Seems like quite a few of us are wearing it. It comes with 3 sizes of oral cushions, 3 sizes of pillows that can be adjusted to 2 heights making it pretty easy to get a good fit.

i had a look at the hybrid mask and like the look of it..i tend to sweat alot around the nose making the mask uncomfortable..

The leak line on the first six hours is very good. You need to figure out what happened in hour seven that cause the large leak. It could be that you changed position and the mask shifted.
You had only one apnea and that is good. Your HI is 2.4 and many would be satisfied with that. I personally would bump the minimum pressure to 8 cm and see if I could blow away some of those hypopneas without causing myself any discomfort from the additional pressure. But that's just me. If you are feeling well during the day, you may want to keep the same pressure settings and see how you feel and how additional nights of data look.

Rooster, how did you calculate HI as 2.4 and what does HI stand for (is it just hypopneas?)?
Thanks!

That's a question I can't answer. Looking again, I see the last night you posted shows HI of 3.6. That is 3.6 hypopneas per hour. Sorry, my goof. You also had zero apneas, not one.

Does HI stand for hypopneas only?

1. HI = hypopnea index
2. AI = apnea index
3. AHI = yellowfin tuna or the sum of 1. and 2.

AHI of 2.9 is a reasonably good night. The leak line is acceptable. I would leave it there for some days and check the daily detail reports at least once per week. The software only retains the last seven days of daily details reports.
What positions do you sleep in?

Good point rooster. My AHI is below 1 if I stay on my sides but can go over 5 if I get tired of doing that and sleep on my stomach or back. Also, I have a bed that is adjustable so if I put the head up even slightly, my numbers improve exponentially. Position is important.

You didn't do anything. The M Series has a quirk that makes it miss a session or 2 every about 7 sleep sessions.
The only way to avoid it is to download a free utility called "My Cpap Card Utility" from
http://www.mycpap.org. With this utility, you can format (erase) all data every 7 sleep sessions. This clears the card of data and you can start again.
I format my card every Sunday, after the download from the night before and I have not missed any detailed data since I started doing that.
It's a quirk in the M Series machines. Some people do as I do and some just miss a couple of night's data every 7 sleep sessions. It erases after 7 or so sessions on it's own and you start with a clear card again.
