I received my machine in October 2008. I had the software and card reader before I got the machine!

In the beginning, I checked my data on a daily basis -- and needed to, in order to get my therapy working the way it should.

In the last three months, with my Mom so ill, I haven't had time to do dailys, but I make it a point to DL and save as PDFs everything on a weekly basis.

I check any time something seems odd, like making sure of the leak rate the night after Babette Beagle attacked by mask. Or the morning I woke up with desperate gut cramps for which there was no explanation. Or things like that.

I've been downloading my card and checking my nightly data every morning, from the very beginning. Initially, it was to "prove" that I had picked a better pressure than my sleep doctor had prescribed. Once I became mentally relieved that I would NEVER have to meet with that SOB again (and my therapy numbers were good), it became a routine thing that I do while my coffee is brewing in the morning. The other consideration was that keeping my nightly reports was a "CYA" in case I would ever be involved an a vehicle accident. At least I could PROVE that my therapy was good and they could not blame OSA for anything. There were also getting to be a number of accidents (and related deaths) creeping into the news at about that time and I felt the need to have that documentation available if need be.

I have no intentions to stop or do it less often......I NEED my coffee in the morning (along with my data) ......and downloading my card takes about as long as the coffeemaker. And, it satisfies my curiosity about how I slept.

I used to check it daily, when I was trying to get a good pressure for me. Now I just check it if I seem to be overly tired during the day.

I may look at the machine on my screen every day but I don't dig into the data. If I see somethign on the screen change then I dig in.

You should probably add a choice of "I never check" as I am sure there are some who never check.

My AHI is a moving target, so I check pretty frequently. However, I've had lots of problems downloading, so I don't get data as often as I would like.

No one seems to care what the data shows except me and one RT in the sleep department.

Happy Naps,
Mr Capers

I use to check my numbers every day. Religiously.

Then my PC died and I had to use my work laptop. Luckily it has XP. But, becasue it was a pain to unpack, hook-up, disconnect and repack everytime, I only checked about once a week. When I replaced the PC it was with another latop. Unfortunately this one has Vista 64 bit. Even more of a pain - ok, it just doesn't work, so I had to resort to the old work laptop and was back to the once a week (or so) routine. This went on for a while.

I also had to deal with several major health issues with my dad for about 4 months, and ultimately his passing two weeks ago. During that time I really haven't cared what my numbers were, just that I was able to do everything I could for him. Now that he is gone and some aspects of life are returning to normal, I am back to my dilemma of dealing with the work laptop or trying to deal with the Vista 64 issue. Either way, its a pain in the a$$ that I am not sure I want right now. And ultimately, as long as I still feel better than pre-PAP; I am not exhibiting the symptoms that I did pre-PAP; and, the onboard info does not look out of line, I'm not sure that it is worth the worry or effort more than that once in a while when curiousity gets the better of me.

Just sayin'

I check the LCD daily and use ResScan 3.7 maybe once a month or if some weird trend starts happening.

I check the display on the cpap every morning when I get up. Then I turn off the machine til the following night (switch on the outlet surge protector). I do have the software and reader for the machine as well, and I download that onto my computer about once a week. It is nice to review sleep review sleep results from time to time.
