Here is a thread dealing with the "other" buckwheat pillows that I ended up kind of in the middle of a flame war over.

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39829&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... sis+pillow

I stand by my initial observations on the Regenesis pillow. I have used nightly since receiving back in March. Love it!! No other equals it in my opinion.

Thanks, Carol. I may read that if I'm in the mood to infuriate myself.

So far, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pillow. My AI has consistently been 0.0 since using and I haven't had an AHI over 2.0!

Ok if you are telling me I'm going to get those numbers I really tempted to buy the same pillow

I really don't mind spending the extra money if the product works for me. But other pillow manufacturers are offering the opportunity for me to return it if i don't like it. I'm worried about ending up with a pillow that i do not like, even if it is a good quality pillow.

EDIT OK i just found this on Brets Pur-Sleep web site

OK given all the positive statements about the Regenesis I've decided to pull the trigger. I ordered the cover too.

I've have the scents and PapCap from PurSleep so I know that Bret does stand by his products as he has resolved product issues I have had very well in the past.

I could have sworn that I wrote that Your Mileage May Vary (re: the numbers). I'm just reporting my own personal experience. (edit) CAN'T guarantee anything.

I've also had some resolution on my digestive/panic problems recently (I think I passed a liver stone... OUCH!) so that may have a lot to do with my numbers as well.

Can guarantee anything.
I am so impressed -- you can guarantee anything -- can you help me pick some winning lottery numbers. I don't purchase tickets cause I think one day I can win without buying them but if you guarantee me to win I will buy the ticket and even split the winnings with you!!!

I just had to have some fun with you Tattoo -- I knew you actually meant you can't guarantee anything.

Sleepycarol, I am impressed with you! I couldn't resist reading some of that "other" thread, and you really held your own with the "big boys". All that about a pillow? My husband also uses the Regeneris and does better with it than any of the MANY others we tried. He is a very restless sleeper so that has been a big stumbling block for us. We did have to take out about a cup of hulls to make it a bit softer and more adjustable. His only complaint is he wishes it were bigger. He's alternating with his memory foam contour pillow right now. Oh well.

At one point I had talked to Bret about making a queen size and he said he would think about it, then he backed off but this was in the early stages of getting the pillow out there. I think if it were slightly larger maybe. I was used to a king size pillow, had used a king size since 1984 and had sworn I wouldn't give up the size. But when I tried a queen size quilted pillow cover with hulls it was too heavy in my opinion. Hmmm, some of us might want to see if Bret would be up to doing a larger prototype for us to try.

As far as his price, any of the other cpap pillows are about in the same price range so for a speciality pillow his is not over priced in my opinion.

Thanks DoriC for headsup!! I can easily get caught up in things, but that doesn't serve any real purpose and doesn't do anyone any good. I think it is far better to act like an adult instead of a spoiled kid having a temper trantrum and at times that is how I feel some of the members act.

I am working on a King Size model that is six inches longer and holds 6 gallons of buckwheat hulls....It's a monster (almost 8 pounds full)...

Thanks for the suggestion--stay tuned!

I've been using a pillow filled with buckwheat hulls for many years. They are available here in Toronto at the granola-type health food stores and, are relatively inexpensive. I've tried everything from feathers to rubber to memory foam and have found buckwheat to be, by far, the best. The one I have is shaped like a crescent and has a small tube in it which can be "over-filled" with hulls so that there is a firmer section which fits in the crook of your neck. Love it!

Emptying them out so that the cover can be washed is a bit of a pain; another way of freshening the pillow is to leave it out in the sun all day in the summer, flipping it over a few times during it's sun-bath.

Interesting about your pillow. Can you provide the name so I can possibly find it online so I could see what it looks like.

So far my pillow has not developed any odors and I have been using it since March.
