OH, NO!!! I didn't look at any news shows yet. You've got to be kidding. What about Louisiana? This is heartbreaking. I will say some extra prayers this morning that Rita, like a woman, changes her perrogative and goes back out to sea or doesn't become a Cat 5. My thoughts are with you all. This is just far too much.

I know something is serious when the stock market takes a dive across multiplel segments.
That happened overnight. This cat 5 RITA sure has put the wind up the investment community.

The only stock I monitor that actually went up was ResMed's. In particular, all the tech stock's I monitor went down, some markedly.

Once again God bless you folks in Tx near Galveston. I guess Corpus Christi will be ok.

Most likely I will tomorrow afternoon if I have to. I have started packing tonight. Oh, what do you take?

The first thing that came to mind other than the obvious food, water...was photographs...ssssssssssigh.
I just can't believe what is going on with these hurricanes..makes the VERY occasional earthquake we get in our area not seem so traumatic..

Stay safe, R&R....

r&r, webbie, hopefully ya'll are ready to head out real soon! This storm sounds like it's going to be major bad! As for what to take? Be darn sure to take your insurance documents! Also, vehicle registrations and titles, photographs, pets, passports (if you have them) and bank information. Oh, and don't forget your CPAPs!!! Remember, things can be replaced. YOU can't!

My brother and his wife (who live in Galveston) headed to San Antonio yesterday morning. One of our friends who lives in Santa Fe (Texas, not NM) also headed out yesterday, along with her family. My mother, who lives just E of Lake Charles, LA has plans to head to northern Louisiana with some cousins today. Sweetie has thanked my multiple times over the last couple of days for us moving from Galveston to here in Carlsbad, NM.

May God bless ya'll and take care of you all!

Take cash, lots of cash. After Katrina many bank accounts were frozen and people couldn't even get $$$ out of an ATM!
