My DME said it was fine to use tap water in the HH. He did note that it will cause mineral deposits to form on the basin. He instructed me to wash it in the vinegar/water bathe once a week. Anyone freaked out by this standard?

My RT told me that I didn't have to use distilled water she uses just plain tap water. I use distilled though. She also told me that my hose, mask and water container on my HH should be soaked in vinegar and water once a week.
I try very hard to follow her instructions... but i think i have missed a few times. Oppsie~

I had mine on 1 last night and got condensation in it.
Lori, if you're using the RemStar integrated HH, as I am, I think the 1 setting is no heat at all. That seems to be as low as one can turn it down, and I've never noticed any heat at that setting.
So the fact that you had rain-out at the 1 setting seems to indicate that the Aura is VERY prone to that. But of course as as long as that is fixable with a heated hose, it's not a big deal.
It really looks like it would have that tendency, with those small tubes that curve around: It's like a radiator.
After my first and only rain-out experience (when I turned the HH up to 2), I cut the toes off several pairs of old thick socks and slipped them over the tube. Might cut condensation a bit.
