I love my mask also.

My Hans Rudolph Petite is really comfortable and I sleep like a baby.

Once I get my new machine I will really be very happy.

I regularly use an Active and Aura. All I do i wash the seal on the Activa, or the pillows on the Aura. Since my face is fairly oily by morning I would never be able to get a good seal each night without doing this. It takes about 30 seconds as I'm washing my face each morning. Don't take the whole thing apart unless it's dirty.

If you do decide to use the baby wipes, perhaps it would be best to follow them with a little Desitin or J&J Baby Powder (ONLY KIDDING). Brings me back to the days when all I did was change diapers...I'd rather wipe my mask.

Need a little clarification here,

My understanding is that the alcohol in the wipes breaks down the silicon in the mask. Not sure if there are any wipes that do not contain alcohol.

A pharmacist advised me not to use any wipes that contain aloe as this will degrade the sealing properties of the mask.

I would love to use some kind of wipes in between weekly and now longer thorough cleaning of my mask etc. Any further advice in this area?

Every morning I throw the direct contact part of my mask or nasal pillow in a little netting (lingerie) bag and rinse the whole thing (bag and all) with water (no chemicals) and hang the bag up to dry on one of those little peg carousels. Must be easy because often I don't even remember doing it. On the rare occasions I have added a little soap or detergent the perfume annoys me when I go to wear it.

I use microfibres and water to do most of the house cleaning as tests have proven that water is the best cleaner around. Quick drying is the best anti-germ warfare along with sunlight. But, of course my masks will never see direct sunlight.

PS I love my mask also !!!!

I rinse a flannel under very hot water ring it out and then take the flannel which remains quite warm to my mask and wipe the mask with it.

I do this every night before bed and I find that this removes all the oils that build up on the mask over night. I use the flannel only for this purpose and this method avoids the necessity to use chemicals.

Tom uses witchhazel every night to clean his mask and face.

What a great idea! I never know where I can safely lay it down to dry without risking someone perhaps knocking it off the counter or something along those lines. If I hung it in the shower or something like that, that might work! Thank you, Lyn.

Lori..don't I wish I could use baby powder on my mask...I love baby powder and use it all over my body after a shower...Desitin...I don't think so..
I used to babysit for 18 years, so I have changed hundreds and hundreds of diapers....and like you, I would rather wipe my mask...

There are so many excellent ideas that people have....and I have decided not to use the wipes on my mask...just in case...but have wiped around my nose with one a few times...

My best suggestion? Buy either baby shampoo or baby wash, even Ivory soap, and just gently clean around what touches your face/skin. That should be good enough daily, if you do it daily. Don't stress too much about it, as long as you do it every so often and you know it's clean. Bigger fish to fry, like minding the leaks and the comfort, etc.

And I, too, love the smell of talcum powder. So fresh and cuddly. Guess it's because it reminds me of babies, who are so fresh and cuddly, too.

I use baby shampoo every day to wash the part of my mask that touchs my skin. I use the one with lavendar added, it smells sooooo good when I put my mask on.

I like the idea of the mesh lingerie bag... I will have to try that one!

I have used regular baby shampoo but didn't like the smell of it...I'll have to try this lavender kind...didn't know they had that kind. I have been using ivory soap to clean the humidifier ( every second day) and the hose and headgear ( once a week ) but I think the shampoo idea would be a good idea to quickly clean my mask that I clean everyday.

Baby Wipes are just so darn big. I started using Tucks Medicated Pads to clean my mask in the morning and they are the perfect size. I just keep the container at my bedside. Tucks are 50% witch hazel and contain a few other ingredients. While there is some alcohol, it seems to be a negligible amount, and I've never experienced any degradation in mask performance... I've been using Tucks for over a year now--and they are perfect. When I travel, I use the convenient Tucks individual travel packs.

What's more, these pads are cheaper than baby wipes.
