I got my seasional flu shot about a month ago but because I was over 64 I could not find the H1N1 shot because I was not on the priority list. My PCP finally got some of the vacine and told me because of my health problems he wanted me to take it. I got it last Friday and so far no adverse reaction to it.

One month ago this day
We made our way to Lillian’s room.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Pediatric.
Child.
An 18 year old child,
A child old enough to change the world
With her fierce Heart.

Because our Heart
Hears and sees and breathes with her Heart,
We know her.

Just as we know ourselves,
Just as we know our child.
We know Lillian.

Even those of us who are motherless
Know her Heart.
We all share her Heart.
Here,
With each inspiration
We are One.

For one month
Her heart beat on and on,
Her body breathless,
So that we could come together
Here.
Now.
Alive,
In Love.

A Prayer for Lillian,
Born from a reaching out,
A connecting with each other.

I can make no words with my mouth
Nor any image with my mind,
To materialize her before me
As it was before.

Her life so rich
It’s end,
Her inevitability.

The sheer will to say,
“Lillian” ....
That endless spark within us that pushes forth
Our Prayer for Lillian,
Is Lillian.

Let us recognize that place,
The very center of our being,
That place that births nothing
As that place which --
Through action
Creates Lillian.

Pregnant women are you getting the swine flu shot when it comes out? I was reading an article that said 28 pregnant women in the US have died from swine flu. I know its only 28 out of how many million people but i am very scared. I'm planning on getting both the seasonal flu vaccine and the swine flu vaccine.

i get the flu shot EVERY year. i just got my pneumonia shot this year too (thats good for a couple of years)

Primary Care Physicain

My Mom (R.N. for 33 years)

all say they are not getting for various reasons

it makes me wonder??

so i said no thank you

I got the swine flu vaccine as well as the regular flu vaccine. Having the flu once was enough for me. I know there's a lot of debate surrounding it, but I've had no ill effects.
