Deliciously crusty on the outside, soft where it counts, always nourishing, even when entertainingly nutty. A good way to start your day.

Mean? Maybe in the sense of "effective," but never in the sense of "malicious."

Please pardon my getting mushy, Muffy. Thanks for hanging here.

I think Muffy needs (to do?) some baking.

[I've deleted the gif I'd posted here originally. I thought it was just a twisted and innocent take on the doughboy being stuck in the oven, but an important detail was brought to my attention by a forum member I respect. And, upon closer scrutiny, I saw that the gif had a much more sinister undertone. I blame my eyesight on the oversight and offer my sincere apologies to anyone who may have been offended.]

Apologies, Muffintop, but this gif always cracks me up. I know I'm twisted, but ya love me anyway. Right?

I am retired now, but worked in research in a local university. Research involved genetic studies, cognitive assessments, and data collection/analysis concerning anxiety, language acquisition, sleep disorders, and other behavioral problems. Our focus was on people who had specific and fairly rare genetic syndromes, and also other people to be contrast groups for comparison. Families from all across the country came to our lab to be tested and helped. We even had some participants from other countries.

I was an elementary physical education teacher, primarily. I also taught a number of other things. Physical education teachers are certified K-12, so I have taught all grades. I also have taught 7th grade math, 8th grade science, 3rd grade, and coached volleyball and basketball.

I have also taught computer lab classes to all levels and first grade science.

There is more, but I don't want you all to know TOO much about me.

Karen,
Who has had a somewhat checkered 30+ year career

Wow,
Quite a diverse group but tending to be heavy on the engineering/computer side. I wonder if there is some correlation between being left-brained type and wanting to understand and control xPAP therapy.

It does occur to me that there is enough talent in this forum to invent an air-pressure machine that could blow a very controlled stream of air out through a hose. Strictly for amusement only, you understand - you wouldn't want it to come under some form of regulation

Me? I'm an IT application manager in the healthcare space.

I'm a lawyer, working for companies that insure doctors and hospitals against medical malpractice liability. I look at hundreds of malpractice claims every year, and I've started keeping a lookout for those involving OSA. Fortunately, they are rare.
