I don't consider a hybrid for $165 plus gst & Qst a good deal.

Hey. there is a candian option for online cpap equipment. There are some initial price restrictions set by the manufacturers in canada but there are creative ways to be competative. Sale prices and instant rebates. ie pr auto/humid and optilife mask for 1595 but 400 rebate. So 1195. Includes shipping... pretty close ? Candian warranty is 3 yrs instead of 2 with us machines. Resmed wont allow to advertize online but we do have the product .. Masks are about 95 for standard nasal masks and 120-140 for pillow masks. Service is always important, return policy on the masks as well. clinicalsleep dot com

I don't need the replacement mask just yet but decided to order one anyway from Amazon just now & they declined the shipping address due to the manufacturers shipping restrictions. I guess it looks like a mailbox in the U.S. or no more Resmed. The mask I want is $86USD and $220CDN.
If you're interested in alternatives for Canada... I can make some suggestions that I will share if you "pm" me.

An online site that doesn't provide personal service of any kind can afford to be cheaper than a DME that does provide service and incorporates the fee for that service in the cost of the device instead of charging the client. Of course, you have to be happy with the service...
This, of course, pre-supposes that the DME in question actually provides service for their fee. Mine doesn't.

Just a response to blackspinner in regards to the hybrid price, no taxes on cpap supplies in canada, also you have to look at overall cost including shipping. Just to get my facts right , is there free shipping to Canada? When i punch in the numbers on the us stores it says about 17 for shipping a mask? Is that right? If that is right then a swift 2 sells for 121 plus 17 so 138. Clinical sleep is 139.95 no tax free shipping in canada. On a quattro is is 176 plus 17 so 193. Ours is 179.95 total free ship.. Also if you open the package and try it with us you have 30 days to try it , if you dont like it then send it back and you get a store credit or exchange it for another mask. On us site you need to buy a insurance fee?? Some masks are cheaper online due to volume sales or the masks that dont sell much or dont fit that well like the hybrid, never had much luck with that one. Forma is another , never seems to fit that well so if it is sitting on the shelf they may sell it for a steal. Please let me know if i have my facts right. And thanks to blackspinner its great to gleam some tips from an experienced canadian online CPAP user. steve

why bother buying from Amazon?

Just buy from CPAPauction.com - you can buy almost any Resmed Mask from cpapauction and shipment to Canada is not an issue with the sellers.

I bought 2 Swift Fx for $90ish and this is below all those dracula DME pricing. My old ancient DME quoted $350 for anyP mask, no service, no trial, nothing. Just your order and then your cash

sarcher - Thanks. There is no tax on cpap equipment in Canada and, as I looked at your site, I see that there is free shipping for $100 or more sale.

This brings things (masks and parts anyway) comparable to the US online suppliers. It brings the masks you mentioned right in line with US online suppliers (within a few dollars).

I LIKE your 30 day money or credit back guarantee on masks!!!

I did contact you about Resmed masks and mask replacement parts and was equally pleased at your response!!!

Thanks!!

Hi Steve

I also wanted to comment on your online store for Canadians...

When I called, I found that prices were completely in line with other online services. I've also been following your responses on threads here at CPAPtalk.com and thought... you present yourself as who you are so we can judge your comments based on that; You have also shown a lack of bias when giving advice, which for many suppliers and even us users, can sometimes be difficult; Then when I talked by phone with people at your store... they were friendly and helpful, prices were great.

I think its just great to have you as a an advisor here... I commend you for your effort. I haven't bought anything there yet... but I do intend to.

Just one question: You didn't mention but on the phone I was told there was a 25% re-stocking fee for masks... Is that correct or is it 30 day exchange/ credit as you stated here ???

Thanks
Nord

    Bump.

Even now in 2011, there is a w*rkaround.

I just placed an order with our hosts late last night... a replacement Climateline hose (I don't know how, but I got a small hole in my current hose... I have patched it up successfully and once new hose arrives, current hose will be relegated to being a spare), a replacement forehead support for my Mirage Quattro and a year's worth (i.e. two 6packs) of no-name hypo-allergenic air filters... it's being sent to this location in Washington State and I will drive down to pick it up when it comes in (I estimate a week to allow for shipping and processing and a 20 minute drive plus what ever time in line at the border drive from my house)...

Even with the nominal USPS Priority Mail shipping charge and the mail forwarding's 3$ receiving charge, I am saving a bundle on the cost of the hose alone (the hose savings paid for the cost of the filters) and would not normally have been able to order it from our hosts if I didn't have access to the mail holding place WA state (our hosts wouldn't be able to ship it to me and the cost of Shipito's shipping fees would have negated any savings realized by shopping in the US).

Another question for all of those in the know... will our hosts ship to hotels? The reason why I ask is that I am planning a trip to Las Vegas in the not too distant future and was thinking that if I find that I need more parts/equipment and if I time it right, I could have an order shipped directly to the hotel in time for my arrival there.... I'd likely have to add "Please Hold for Arrival on XXX date" as the business name so that the hotel will know that I will be coming.

If I was to purchase a new mask from one of the, larger. Canadian company that I got my initial equipment from 5 yrs ago (cost of which was only partly covered by the Canadian government grant) I was told that it would cost me a $75 fitting fee for the next mask I got from them - this cost is approx. what I would pay now for a Breeze mask on line from U.S. , depending on exchange rates. I will not be back there, although they were a big improvement, service wise, from the first company I went to in Pickering.

It's all a conspiracy to get Canadians and others to BEG for NAFTA, then further to the NWO, cheap labor rates, race to the bottom.

Ok Resmed, I'll just buy a different make of machine and mask.
With bit of luck the next machine and mask I buy, plus the ones I have now, will "see me out" as they say!
Wonder who else will follow this trend of not shipping to Cda.
