I use it and it's definitely my favorite of the masks I've tried. You have to be VERY committed to learning to use it. The headgear can be configured countless ways (which sounds great, but can be very confusing and frustrating), some decide not to use any headgear (you can use it like an oxygen cannula), and some decide to lab rat their own headgear. If you PM Babette, she can send you pictures of many different configurations to try.

You also have to try out a few different cannulas to make sure you get the best fit; the one that feels best at first may not be the one you end up with. It is by far the most comfortable mask for side sleeping that I've found (I use a water pillow or a foam rubber pillow). The thing that bothered me the most at first was being able to hear my inhalation, and I thought it would be a real deal breaker, but I hung in there and now it doesn't really bother me any more.

I get a consistent 0.0 leak rate with it. The thing I like most is how little touches my face and head, especially during this warm weather -- and no more headgear hair ! I don't have to use any kind of gel or lubricant with it at all, although I did use Ayre gel at first.

PS: They aren't listed on the website yet, but Pad-A-Cheek does make covers for the NA II hoses. Also, I got my first one on cpapauction.com, brand new, for about half the retail price.

Can anyone please add input about whether Auto Shutoff of your machine is working with the Nasal Aire ii Nasal Prong mask? I just bought a NAii and am trying it out with my ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for her. So far it's looking like the only way my Airsense 10 will shut off automatically is when I remove the mask's hose from the machine's hose. My machine won't shut off if I just pull off the nasal prong out of my nose. Getting the mask hose detached from the machine hose takes a bit of shimmying . . . the NAii hose is not like my Wisp mask hose, which has plastic prongs that squeeze in order to easily detach the mask hose from the machine hose. Would be nice if the NAii had such an easily detachable hose. Or am I missing something?

Also -- in my test runs of the NAii, I'm seeing 12 events per hour in just the 15 minutes I've tried it. I'm not clear on how all these test runs/mask removals and such affect my readings for the day. I'm concerned about my readings being basically unreliable/worthless. Or maybe it doesn't matter; there will be new data tonight that will supercede the goofy data, I'm thinking.

You are going to have to disregard any events that are getting flagged while you are testing the new mask and you are awake. The machine doesn't know you are awake playing with a new mask.

Not many Nasal Aire II users here and it's been nearly 6 years since I tried it myself. So I don't now if anyone here now is using that mask to offer much assistance. It's never been a very popular mask so not all that commonly used like some of the other masks.
I have no idea why the Auto Off feature won't work with the mask except perhaps the resistance afforded by the small prongs just have fooled the machine into thinking a human is still attached.

If you end up liking the mask I think that maybe there is a quick release coupling that might work or maybe add a short hose like the F & P Featherweight hose which is easy to unhook from a long hose.

I wasn't successful with the Nasal Aire II...I ended up with my nostrils being an in between size and one size was too small when the pressure was on and the prongs inflated and it hurt like a son of a gun and the next size up was a little too loose when inflated and then it leaked too much. So I never really even got a chance to use it all night. I only know of one forum member who uses it now and I haven't seen him on the forum for quite a while now.

make sure the mask type is set to 'pillows'.
