I use a Mirage Liberty that has the short hose extension. So, truth be told, if I measured the whole thing, it would be pretty close to 2m. Just didn't know if there was anything documented on it. I know when I was using my M-Series Pro with a 10ft hose, I felt like the pressure was much lower and the machine registered no events for the night. Just didn't know, with ResMed, if 6" made that big of a deal. I plan on constructing my own manometer from the other posts on the board and see if there is that much difference....call it personal gratification.

Also, makes you wonder when the US will get on-board with the metric system.

Most places, including CPAP.com, sell 6ft hoses. The ResMed Elite is calibrated for 2m and 3m hoses. The 2m hose equivilates to about 6 1/2 feet. Do you HAVE to use a ResMed 2m hose to get accurate treatment, or can you use a 6ft hose and set the machine for 2m? Does it skew the numbers or throw off leak rates, or will the machine compensate even though it isn't an auto?

I was browsing different products on cpap.com, and I found this while looking at a hose coupler:

"CPAP machines may need to re-calibrated if more than fifteen feet of tubing is used."

If someone has a manometer and a ResMed machine, they could try measuring the output of a fixed pressure setting with different hose length settings (using the same hose for all measurements.) That would yield an idea of the effect of the hose length setting.

When I was in fourth grade, my teacher told us the US switch to the metric system was imminent. It's now 38 years later, and we still haven't switched. So don't hold your breath. I don't know why we haven't switched. Counting everything in 10s is much easier.

That's why we have border crossings, for those that can't learn U.S. math, so they can count to ten in another country. Jim

I am not sure if the APAP menu is like my Elite, but on the Elite menu, you can only select from 2m or 3m of hose length.

I was surprised and excited to see this. Since the conversion kit is $36 and the washable chamber is $55 all by itself. I just called to check with CPAP.com and they told me that the conversion kit DOES NOT come with the washable water chamber. It comes with the 1 piece chamber.
