He is probably one of those who thinks the tongue can be trained to stay on the roof of the mouth and it will stay there when you fall asleep.

Here I am arriving at the office after I forgot to wear my Buff one night.

A while back after telling my barber that something was different about the last 3 haircuts she gave me. I was complaining
that I had to wet my hair first thing in the morning to get it to part right. Well she mentioned that there was another barber
in town I could try !!!!!! Then about 10 min. after I had this little talk with her for the 3rd time it dawned on me that this problem with my hair started when I started using cpap. Later that day I went back to her placed my ultra mirrage full face
mask on and told her I may have found the problem!!! We both had a laugh about it.

Of course we're talking about keratin crosslinking as a result of the ultra-high cysteine content of this abundant cytoskeletal protein. It's pretty clear that blowers induce a different molecular conformational change resulting in a more persistent, water-resistant type of disulfide bridging, as opposed to the less rigid architecture induced in hot, humid hair by wearing a motorcycle helmet.
I was thinking the same thing, I think.

K so maybe I have peculiar hair. But my hair does tend to retain it's shape if I wear a hat for a few days, no amount of washing will get rid of the hat hair dent.

I part my hair on the side so now I have to deal with the hair on the short side flipping up, and kind of an odd bouffant around the rest. The bottom strap does not seem to have as much impact for some reason. The top strap is the culprit.

I have a simple shampoo, rinse and blow-dry routine. The new "style flips" and "bizarre bouffant" remain. I wouldn't really care about it, but all the pointing and laughing is kind of distracting, and that's before I even leave for work!

Well Stacy, get some gel, spike it up, tell the laffers they inspired the new 'do' and live with it

I haven't found a snappy comeback for the straps marks. Friend just says her hubby's into bondage

I have found that a 12-week course of combo chemotherapy (two vincas, VP-16, dox, cyclophosphamide, bleo ...) is an excellent remedy for thinning hair. The whole lot falls out, but then it grows back again much thicker.

Whether this would be a treatment for xPAP hair, I dunno. Any takers?

So THAT's where it goes! On TOP of the head. I've been trying to figure it out! I have really long hair that makes my straps slide around on my head all night. I've tried braiding it, tying it in a knot... anything to keep it out of the way of the straps, but not be in a position that's going to make me feel like I'm laying on a rock.

Although... I do have a hose running up the top of my head, so I don't think a center ponytail would work. You know what I need? Anime piggies. Two pigtails up high on my head, with the hose in the middle. Think I'd look like Sailor Moon? ~~^_^~~

LOL

I may adopt that two-ponytail strategy myself, soon, as my hair grows like a weed and is getting too long now to manage with just one. (And if looking good was a concern, I wouldn't be wearing a mask to bed every night. )

Another thing I do, when putting my hair up in a scrunchy: On the last twist of the scrunchy, I pull the hair only half-way through, so I end up with a little "bun" of sorts. Keeps my long hair from hanging down the back of my head (which keeps me cooler and avoids my hair getting caught in any overlapping Velcro on the straps.

Oh, the adjustments we have to make with this therapy... But every little bit helps.

Just so happens, my lovely wife has a fancy "hair iron". It's pink, but without photographic evidence, it's not really costing me anything. That takes care of the flip. Still working on the bouffant part of the calamity.

Thank you for your support and great ideas. I think there are as many different kinds of hair as there are people. Washing does not do the trick for me. My hair has a "memory". I thought that was clear? Maybe some native's straps are attenuating blood flow to the wits? That could be another thread.
