..................... and you really have to take care of the cause, which is your mouth opening when it shouldn't.
O.
Ozij, I tried everything,( increased humidifier and pressure settings, to stop this mouth opening ! (looking for the cause)
Went to bed last night, had tape ready for my mouth and I was sure I was going to solve this problem.
Oh, no I wasn't that lucky. The tape was useless. It just lifted up - that means I haven't got the right tape.
So, now it is off to the shops again this morning. You ask them for tape suitable to close your mouth for a whole night and they think you're an Alien ! Nevermind, when hubby gets up this morning, I'm sure he will know where we can go for tape.
I think we must try paint shops. The first 4½ hours of sleep is beautiful but then I'm sort or half asleep half awake because of this dry mouth.
(Just a question, guys....opening one's mouth when you sleep, isn't it sort of a 'natural' occurance in human beings ? ? ?)
I mean - all muscles relax so the mouth falls open - ? -
I was hoping not to have to need tape - but, Okay I'm not alone - I'll join the 'mouth taped, greased nares, hoseheaded group!
We have all some issues to make a success of this therapy and in my heart I feel happy and fortunate having this equipment to help with sleep apnae. It is my own fault that I get leaks - well, I'm not awake when I sleep !?! but I know what I do to cause these leaks - I like to put my face (and nose) (when I sleep) right in my pillow - nasty habbit ! then the pillows shift and there comes the leaks ! oh my ! No, I won't try packaging tape ? , will ask for 3M or blue painters (sensitive ares) tape - the problem is, over here in South Africa some product have different names.
Lots of thanx to all cpaptalk members that take the time to answer all our questions. God bless you all !
