I think there are many more older users, but, if they have been on CPAP for a long time they probably tend to spend their time on more productive things than message boards.
Very true, but it's a great time killer on the days when the arthritis flares up!

29 Here. I've only been using my CPAP for 1 day at home and I wish I had started using one 15 years ago.

it should be pointed out that cpap is in its infancy. The "50" group no doubt were on the initial explosion of users in their forties,
and now in their fifties.
Anyone with a hereditary, weight, airway, congenital, asthmatic, deviated septum etc problem can develop 02 deprivation.

Hey, grybeard, a
few more years?! Go for 20, man. We already have a few up there in the recent poll, but we're a bit light there and need more. That's my goal too! Go for it, man!!!

Well, I have! and plan to live a LOT longer! let's not stereotype -- most people think I'm in late 50s, early 60s when actually I'm pushing 73. Feel like I'm in my 30s-40s most times. So, if my BiPap will make me feel and look younger . . . WOW! Still waiting.

Many! have made it into their eighties... either they don't have apnea or they aren't on message boards.

If diagnosed before the advent of CPAP, one would either go untreated or have a tracheotomy.
not many options then.

Just revisited this thread. Results have become a pretty good bell curve, even with skewing elements. Statistically significant, in any case. If you let yourself get old and fat, you have an uphill battle and will .end up blowing your retirement on medical care, just as the American corporate system prescribes.
But as Mark Twain said, "There are are liars, damn liars, and then statisticians." Or something...can't quite remember, as usual...

This is the first time I've seen this poll. I'd like to see it compared to "How old were you when you were first diagnosed?"

I can't believe that so many have viewed this post and so few in comparison have indicated their age.
Interesting how people work isn't it?
