Now I am really upset and worried.

All these years worrying about going to jail for sodomy and now I gotta worry about pressure violations.

How can I convince my wife this is not something she should worry about?

The animals are smarter than we humans. They KNOW what time it is. At least the time that matters. Hey, there are just so many hours of daylight and so many hours of darkness per 24 hours. Maybe business should just change THEIR hours to coincide w/the daylilght hours instead of me having to change my clocks twice a year!!!

Not referring to doctor shopping, since technically, even though I would be violating the law in doing that, I am still using the drugs in accordance with the doctor's instructions. I am referring to recreational use. The doctor's instructions and the scrip say to take one or two tablets by mouth with water every 2 - 4 hours, the dosing instructions that come with the meds specificaly state "do not crush the pills".....but I do so anyway. With the opiates such as oxycodone or oxycontin, this now becomes "recreational", since the effect of crushing is to defeat the time release and get a rapid influx of the drug to get high (and maybe even dead).....

And I was not responding to that question, the question was specific to prescription medications.

Tom, have you considered that perhaps she's not worried? Heck, she could be the one that turned you in to the feds...

Good advice.

We need to develop some guidelines for changing pressures. Something like:

1. You need the software.
2. Monitor the daily detail report for one week before changing pressure.
3. Change your prescribed pressure no more than 0.5 or 1.0 cm per night.
4. Read the detail report the next day.
5. When you settle on a new pressure, read the detail report every day for two weeks. Thereafter review it at least weekly.

What would you propose for guidelines?

I have no idea. I have never had a CPAP. And with the broken promise this afternoon, it doesn't look like I will be getting one any time soon. Such a shame, really, this dr I like has just given me good reason not to trust him.

Does anyone here know where I might find a CPAP set to 7? Does anyone know where I might find a CPAP period? Setting it should be easy enough...

No. I left Michigan because it was too cold. And no, I won't move to Arizona either. Was at a trade show a few years ago in Phoenix. If ONE MORE person had said "but it's a DRY heat"...I would have been arrested.

Thomas, get your prescription from your doctor and shop for a DME to get you the machine, or if you are going out of pocket, order from cpap.com

I just had a thought... Maybe this is all a good thing. See I live in the heart of the Blue Ridge in a very small mountain town. Not much doin' 'round these parts and that is the way I like it. Very peaceful. But the price to be paid for that is not much access to medicine, either. There is all of one pulmonologist in town. But there are two DME's from what I understand. He asked me about a week or more ago which DME I wanted, and I picked one at random. Maybe, since nothing has happened yet, I can change my mind and actually get someone who knows how to smile.

Although I live in a different part of Virginia now, I grew up in Roanoke, have family in Lynchburg, and lived about a year in Waynesboro! I know what you mean---small towns are so peaceful and slow. It's really nice. But you usually have to go a little ways if you want very many choices in physicians!

Hello, Pam. Nice to meet yew. Thanks for visiting my site. As yew can see, I have worked very hard on it.

I am hoping that later today I will be moving forward toward a decent CPAP. But seeing as how it was supposed to be last Friday, and both the Dr and the DME are non-compliant, I am not holding my breath....so to speak.
