You give me too much credit for speaking out. If he had been as rude one of his R.T.'s , I would have been frustrated and yelled at my self all the way home, for not telling him what I thought of him. This man seemed like "one of the good ones (DME's, Wulfman posted that I would find someday,

He came across as genuinely wanted to know "What in earth" had happened to his business. He didn't beg me or the other man to tell him what we had noticed. He just kept saying, I really need to know this, and you have no idea how much this is going to help me. He made it easy, because of that, I was much blunter than I usually am.

I noticed you joined about a month after I did. I live in Salt Lake about 20 minutes from the Wasatch Mountains, I don't know if you live in a city in Missouri, but out here, in the fall and early winter, deer come down from the Mountains when their foodstuffs are covered with snow we use the analogy " Frozen (or caught) like a deer in the headlights." No one in my family hunts, but when we are kinda trapped in a situation when we aren't too comfortable, that saying describes how I would have felt had he been an onery cuss. Thanks for your post - we are no longer newbies, so we get to encourage others.

I wondered how the therapist who had been rude & uncooperative to me, would react knowing I had a long personal chat with his boss. Your statement " that I was now known as a friend of the boss'", both eased my mind, and made me laugh it was so true.

Thanks for your interested response to my post. I agree with you that it is important for us to know what the policy of the Diferent DME's are, and find it strange that your DME,Apria, was supportative for your husband, before his passing. Now you are on cpap and you are being treated rudely.

In my first months visit, the R.T. was not cooperative, didn't bother to help me, just give me the bare minimum he could get away with. Since my surprise visit with the Pres of my DME things have changed. Old Lincoln pointed out in his post, that in that store, I am now known as "known by the boss" and will be treated better.

I still had a little doubt - the Pres will rarely be in that office. BUT, when I was there last and spoke with the Pres, earlier in the day I had pickup up a new mask. The R.T who helped me knew the men were outside his office waiting to take me upstairs, and I got the mask but forgot to ask for the User Manual. I wanted to get the new mask washed, and called the office to see if they could find the manual for me.. Was told by the R. T. who helped me that he was sorry and would look for it. About a half an hour later, he was at my door delivering it. Old Lincoln was right.

If you think it would be a good idea, you could call for the manager and tell him you aren't getting the same consideration you were before you lost your husband. Good luck Sharper Judy.
