Amy-You are a very kind person who has struggled with a lot recently. Hang in there. Is it going to cool off there this week? In Chicago, we're supposed to get nasty storms tonight/tomorrow then a few days of 80's (Thank God- it needs to be cooler or my children and I are going to hurt each other since I can't go out still contagious due to my shingles!!!) I hope for you that it cools off there a little too. I can't stand the thought of going to bed with that heated thing stuck to my face after I have been cooped up and hot all day.

Take care of you and enjoy that weekend!
Sue

Once again you hose heads have helped me through....thank you so much. I never expected so much feedback and support. I'm overwhelmed! Sue...you just crack me up (you and your kids hurting each other)...I can really relate to you. We're supposed to get storms tomorrow night and Friday a.m. too!!! I can't wait...I'm so sick of watering my lawn (uh oh...I forgot I left the sprinklers running...I better go shut them off before my back yard floats away).
Has anybody else noticed how addictive this Board is?? My daughter teases me all the time about how much time I spend on the computer now. Do they have OSA anonymous meetings?????

Yep. Online, here, every Monday night.

Hi, my name is Bill and tomorrow I'll be a hoser. (That's a Canadian hosehead, eh?)

Hi Bill,
I tried to get into the chatroom on a few different Monday nights and I must be doing something wrong because I'm usually the only person in there. I saw that it starts at 7 (cst) and 8 (est). Ok...I'll admit I'm just another dumb blonde...I can never remember if I'm on Central or Eastern time because I live in Indiana and we don't change our clocks for daylight savings time. I think I'm on central time right now. Anyway, I click on the Chat icon and then log in as "yawn" and then the screen shows only me in there...where is everybody????

I've only been there once and got there around 9 (Eastern). There were 7 or 8 others. Maybe you're too early?

It is today now. I just checked the UPS site using the tracking number and sure 'nuff, the package is half-way here already! YIPEE!

Soon I too will know the joys of mask leaks, rainout, and all the other fun things the rest of all y'all talk about.

("All y'all" -- this here Canadian boy's dun gone South!)

yawn - I'm not sure what went wrong for you on Monday night, but there were quite a few people in the chat around 8:00-9:00 EST. Hope to see you next Monday!

Here's a good site to find out what time it is in other places:

Lori, the details of what I'm getting is listed at the bottom of every one of my posts. (Neat feature of this board's software; I just went into my profile and selected my equipment.)

Excellent!!! So you will be able to see what is happening with you each night. The only way to go...

And I am so happy you are starting with the Swfit. It is my one and only mask that I wear now.

Great news this AM. AHI is 1. Had to share or I'll explode!!!

Let me know how you do tonight. Stay relaxed and don't expect too much on your first night, though. You will probably be so psyched that you won't be able to fall asleep too quckly from all the adrenaline pumping through you. Hey, you never know, though. Please share your experience tomorrow with us. GOOD LUCK!!!!

After waking up at 5:30 yesterday and today (to help get my son to his bus on time for 6:17) I don't think I'll have any trouble falling asleep tonight! Look for a post tomorrow documenting my results.

BTW, I've been describing the Swift as a snorkel for my nose! I have good hopes for the Swift as I believe I have some nasal-based UARS that should respond well to the positive nasal pressure delivered by that type of unit. <fingers crossed>

I will keep my fingers crossed for you all day (which makes it hard to type, but I'll do it anyway). Write tomorrow!!!

I have learned to love my CPAP, I know I won't die in my sleep from lack of oxygen, like I almost did without it. After CPAP, my life was "normal" again. I have learned there are worse things in life other then CPAP. Think of it as your new life long friend, who will be there for you in the night.
