That is my experience too Bill but the Clinical manual for the US S8II's clearly says UP TO 5 days and there have been reports of 3 days etc.....

The person reporting 7 days is confusing summary data with detailed data because what they say isn't possible.
My apologies for once again relying on my DME for the correct information instead of checking here first. If I understand you correctly, my report simply contains summary data and the ResScan software will produce more detailed information. I'll search around to see if someone has posted a sample report.

I wondered why anyone would bother with the expense of the software versus reading the info off the machine since all I seemed to get extra from the summary report were a few graphs. Does anyone wish to weigh in on whether the additional benefits of the ResScan software are worth the expense?

Thanks for enlightening me.

". . . Via ResScan Data Card: 180 sessions of summary data, five sessions of detailed data. . . "

I wonder if there could be some kind of problem with the card or the formatting of it?

I've had both the VPAP Auto and now the VPAP Auto 25. Both machines will download up to 180 days of summary data and 2 days of detailed data.
When I talked to the ResMed tech, he said there was so much detail capability and so little computer memory on the machine that this was all it could handle.
That's just what mine does, and I use the Data Card exclusively. I have the adapter and cable to hook directly to my computer, but VISTA is such a booger I'd hate for it to grab my machine and screw it up. That IS my positive attitude!

The software let's you see a timeline of when things happened. It helps when you are trying to get leak rate under control. It gives you a better picture of the flow rate of the machine. And you get to post cool charts for everyone to look at.

I just tried to download my data this morning. My last download was 2/27. When I downloaded all data this morning I only received the last 3 days of detailed info so I lost the detailed info from 2/28. Apparently the number of days you can pull for detailed info has decreased

bigk wrote:OK - The GRAPH posted shows 4 days of detailed data for a start (the LAST day has no data). Did you download to the card after 12pm? That would explain why you don't have data on the last day.
Ok, it must be counting "today" as the 4th day then, since I do download the cards when I get home from work, not in the am. On that chart, there are only 3 days showing detail, the 27th, 28th and 1st. The 25 and 26 is summary only. The 2nd is the date that I downloaded the card, but did it after work at 7ish.

As far as I am aware, the number of events has no impact on the size of a daily data set.

Cheers,

Bill
In either the user manual for our S8 Elite II's, or the clinician manual for the AutoSet I saw, it stated 5 days on the machine for detailed data, 4 on the cards. If it is 4, that explains why I am getting only 3 days, since day four is actually the day I download since it is after noon.

For me, it is helping break down hubby's apnea events. While is AHI is not good, it is ranging between 6.5 and 9.5 daily, it allows me to see that the events are pretty tightly clustered...so while is AVERAGE is 9.5, his events are happening in 2 - 3 tight clusters, and in those hours he is getting a significantly higher number of events....

2 identical machines (other than pressure setting), 2 cards, same results.....3 (now I think it may be 4, will test on Sunday am) days of detailed data. A manual I read recently, not sure if user or clinician said 5 in the machine, 4 on the card.

I also question if there is a machine user or program difference resulting in the transfer difference of data between different ResMed Software users...just a thought no data expert here, are we all using 3.7 software with the machine, is there difference between running the softwared on Vista or XP, etc.............Perhaps over the weekend, I'll try to put 3.7 on my desktop XP and download and see how much stored data is available. (Currently, running on Lappy Vista 32) Also, although I can download 5 days via datacard, I save the detailed data and have access to it through the program itself. So, I have all detailed data since I loaded the software except one day I forgot transfer data to computer within the 5 days. The reason I like the software in addition to the LCD, after I saw a 27 second apnea event, I can't imagine not using machine with the 27 second red flag in my mind...therefore the softwared data is a visual reinforcement for compliance for me!!!!! Makes it more than a vacuum blowing up my nose!!!!

I haven't tried it but I'm wondering if it depends on what mode we are using our devices in that determines how many days of detailed data is available? Also, I don't have an S8 II per se. I have the VPAP Auto that came out in January 2008. I don't know what all differences there may be between it and the VPAP Auto 25 that come out in July 2008.

What I am thinking is that MAYBE there could be 5 days of Detailed data when used in CPAP mode which doesn't produce as much data. In VPAP mode I can only download 2 days of Detailed data but there is more data per day. I'm not sure about how many days in Spontaneous mode. I'm guessing maybe only 2 days in Spontaneous mode.

How much data can I obtain from the S8 AutoSet II?
The S8 AutoSet II stores up to 365 days of summary data and up to five nights
of detailed data (up to 500 events per session). The Data Card stores up to 180
days of summary data and up to four nights of detailed data (up to 200 events
per session).
From the clinical manual. I am running Vista BTW. Emphasis mine.

That's the S8II Clinical manual - so it's 4 nights detailed data for the card.

..........My ResMed is in Auto mode with 5 nights of data, it is puzzling why such a difference in data downloading among users, wonder if we'll ever know why...maybe a computer guru on the list can figure out the variance among users!
