"The first thing to do is check if "Swift" is selected in the mask section of the user menu. If not, correct it. When you first put the mask on with it connected to the hose and machine, press the power button and hold it for a few seconds. The pressure will come on at the full set level; there will be displayed on the LCD a graphical and textual evaluation of fit: Excellent, Very Good, Good, or Adjust Mask. Once you get a VG or better, push the button again to get out of that function then once again to begin the session. If mouth-breathing is an issue, chinstraps or tape are two easily implemented solutions.
2) AHI/AI/HI numbers - their high readings may be directly connected to the leak rate, fixing it may help a lot."
Jim's very good advice above might help. Did you have any success with that? Your leak rate, as well as your AHI came down so you are heading in the right direction.

Sorry I overlooked Jims excellent suggestion yesterday. However i have just tried that out and the result =excellent. I will try that again tonight before sleep to make sure its the same. I am using the medium size pillows, sometimes i have to wiggle them around to get a good fit but the medical assistant at the sleep doctors did agree that the medium did look like a good fit. I have the option of trying the small or large ones but I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do yet.
I wonder now that i am looking at this data what is the procedure for leaving your bed (to use the bathroom etc), can i just just dump the mask or do i turn the machine off first so the data is not affected?

0.48L leak
21.5 AHI
2.2 AI
19.3 HI
2nd night
0.24L leak
19.1 AHI
AI 4.4
HI 14.7
Still not much improvement after i attempted to address leak issues. I think AI has gotten worse?
The AI number will be closer to what it really is as you get the leak rates under control.
Concentrate on getting the leak number down first.
Bathroom breaks, turn off the machine otherwise you got a large leak contributing to the data.
I understand that the leak number on the LED is the 95 %ile which means 5 % of the time your leak number was higher than that (or equal to). You don't want extra minutes of large leaks skewing that.

3rd night
Leak 0.28
AHI 34.5
AI 6.8
HI 27.7
as with anything that consistently gets worse despite attempts to make it better, my CPAP will be in the classifieds by the end of the week
my only thought now is i may be leaking from my mouth. I'll be off to wallgreens tonight to see if they sell come kind of tape i can use to keep my mouth shut.
Does anyone know if you can buy chinstraps from anywhere other than the DME?

I bought mine from cpap.com. They're very good about shipping things out same day, so depending on how close you are to Houston you'll have it in about 1-4 days...
There's a ton of them on ebay as well...
