I miss Roster. He was awesome.
Correction: He is around--just not as talkative.

roster wrote:Now back to aerophagia and blood glucose levels. I started CPAP three years ago with normal blood glucose levels. I have had three years of aerophagia caused by CPAP. During these three years my blood glucose levels steadily rose to the prediabectic level and they are still rising and are now near the diabetic level.
So that is a correlation in my case. And now here is why I hypothesize it is causative. If reducing the size of the stomach causes favorable changes in blood glucose levels, then maybe increasing the size of the stomach (by pumping it up with a CPAP machine) affects signaling that causes unfavorable changes (increases) in blood glucose levels.

Does this mean that if I fart instead of holding it in my blood glucose levels will plummet?

Oh I can just see those diabetes workshops now with everyone learning to fart in unison!

No, I fart a lot, but it doesn't help with the blood glucose--I just have to limit the carbs.

its happening to me too.
hi, my blood sugar was ranging from 160-177 am to up to 276 pm after I started using a cpap machine. (even on days I ate very well and my blood sugar was 98 I would wake up and it would be 157). the CPAP caused my body to become stressed while asleep because was feeling too much pressue exhaling. this stress raises cortisol, which, of course, raises blood sugar... a similar thing that happens regarding the dawn phenomenon or dawn effect. I was able to lower my mornimg blood sugar reading as much as 100 pts overnight by taking 2 source naturals holy basil. this supplement is reputed for lowering cortisol and was effective for me. but it still sucks the cpap I need is causing diabetic complications.... here's hoping bipap helps!
