Can the papcap II be worn with out the chinstrap and still accomodate your mask attaching to the cap? I am interested in it but, I don't think I want to use a chin strap.

I would say yes, but it depends on the type of mask.

Yes--the chinstrap is completely removable so it's also 100% optional with any mask. This is how carbonman uses his papcap--as headgear without the chinstrap....

The pad I am seeing on carbonmans forehead is that part of the cap or is that separate. My mask moves around at night and this looks like it will keep it stable.

That is a PadaCheek forehead pad.

That combined w/the Papcap is very comfortable and functional.

I alternate between a FF mask and Nasal. When I use the Nasal Comfort Gel, I use my PapCap and chinstrap. I do not attach the mask to the cap.. I have slightly modified my PapCap and do not use any of the velcro straps. I put on the PapCap and Chinstrap and then put the Comfort Gel on top. The mask is easily removed withour disturbing the chinstrap.
Personally I don't see a need for the PapCap when using a FF mask (?)

clarification: carbonman is showing the first version of what is now the PLUS model, with extensions on the backstraps as well as the ability to connect the top/bridge of the mask to Velcro mounted at the temples. The Standard model does not come with extensions as shown in his pic or the velcro sewn into the temple area. The Standard model is a chinstrap only. But the chinstrap is optional.

Thanks that is what I needed to know. I want to ditch my headgear! I like the option of a chin strap if the need should occur. I wear a Soyala Nasal w/FP 406 headgear from a Petite mask and I still had to shorten up the headgear. SO am I understanding the the PapCapII is what I am seeing on carbonman correct?
