Almost two years. All night, every night--only missed one night in two years. Best thing that's ever happened to me. I finally got my life back after decades of being a zombie!

I've been on a machine for over 20 years.

When I was in the Navy, when someone said they had been "in" for over 20 years, the standard reply was "Do trees live that long?"

My 4 year anniversary will be in March. Still going strong.

Only missed one night in all that time, due to accidentally leaving it at home when I drove six hours away. Had I been staying more than that one night, I would have found a DME locally and gotten one - but we didn't get in and realize it was missing till 11 p.m. I gotta say - worst night of sleep in my whole life. lol

I am still somewhat struggling after almost two years, but I have not given up. I have nights that are good, and some bad ones too. Masks are a real problems, I ordered the same one I used before with success, and the new one fit completely differently. For all the cost, should there be a mask made to fit each of us individuallly?

Well, that's hard for me to answer. I used one for about a year and a half, off and on. That was an old Respironics, when a man came to my house, showed me how to turn it on and what a mask was. I knew absolutely nothing. I went that way for over a year, not knowing if I was improving, or why I was doing it. I may or may not put the thing on when night came. I don't ever remember even washing the mask or hose!!!! I became frustrated and turned the thing back in. In about 2 years, my daughter convinced me to get another sleep test, as I was clearly snorting and snoring and jumping around in bed.
When I did, my sleep doc told me to get on a forum and learn all I could. That was last July. Now, here I am, and the last time, 3 weeks ago, he told me I was one of his most informed patients. I'm a fast learner, but also a very foolish person at times. Well, no one is perfect.
