Hi folks,
I am sorry if this is considered "hijacking a thread" (please tell me if it is), but while reading through this thread it looks as though this is a group of people with experience on the Respironics software and I have questions. I need to know what software I should get, and since I usually make a long story longer, I will just post my givens and see what y'all think and can offer me as suggestions/advice.
I have a Remstar M Series APAP with C-flex and HH on the way (records advanced data is my understanding)
I want to obtain data to improve/alter my treatment (don't feel "great" as much as I did for the first few months on xPAP)
I only see "EncoreViewer" for sale at the cpap.com website
I have Windows XP Home Edition on my PC
I want to spend "what it takes to do the job right" (in dollars and time/effort) but no more
I don't need any extras - just data that is going to be useful for my treatment and easily obtainable
I am open to all suggestions, information, advice, personal experiences, alternative sources for software / readers / etc
Thanks so much for your time and participation - this site is the BOMB! (phrase from my younger days)
Tracy

Viewer is for sale - Pro is not any more
You need the DT3500 card reader and the encore driver for it (don't use the Mako driver in other words). There are several vendors for this card reader separately (online DME's, secure-tech, place in Hong Kong that bucko posted - the place many bought from 2factors has been out of stock for months).
If you acquire Encore Pro, you need release 1.5 or later for a Cflex m series APAP. If you are using Vista you need 1.8. If your apap is the m series AFLEX model, you need 1.8.
There is problem with 64 bit but not 32 bits - way over my feeble head.
If you buy Encore Viewer you don't have to worry about Vista or Aflex. The only EV release covers that. If you are going to buy Viewer / reader package there is another online DME that is cheaper than cpap.com - ask cpap.com to price match.
Recent thread on all of this - and ask away --

Thanks jules, that was really helpful info!
I see what you mean - I found the software AND the card reader (package) for $139. So cpap.com will pricematch that? Why not buy it where I found it for that at (just curious)?
Thanks again,
Tracy

That is reason enough for me then good buddy. This forum has been a literal lifesaver. I will do the pricematch thing (once I get reimbursed for about $500 worth of xPAP spending I have done this week).
Thanks again,
Tracy

Hi Tracy,
Please see my comments below in bold neon pink:

Not to worry - I don't think most of us consider "hijacking a thread" a floggable offense
I have a Resmed M Series APAP with C-flex and HH on the way (records advanced data is my understanding)
*** Respironics software won't work with the Resmed
I want to obtain data to improve/alter my treatment (don't feel "great" as much as I did for the first few months on xPAP)
*** Join the happy crew - many of us do just that
I only see "EncoreViewer" for sale at the cpap.com website
*** Won't work with Resmed
Hopefully someone with Resmed software experience will drop by and give you the options for that.

Yes indeed I meant a Remstar and confused the name with my present Resmed. I am sorry about that confusion.
Thanks,
Tracy

Ah - now that makes sense
You don't really have much choice in software or hardware .... you'll need EncoreViewer and the specific Smartcard reader that goes with it. Only that one brand and model of reader will work.
Should be fine with Windows XP home edition.

You'll be in good hands as long as you stay with Respironics if you go to the other side of the tracks, YOU are on your own, my friend.
oh go up to top left side of page
select Control Panel
Profile tab
Edit equipment
change How would you like your equipment displayed from Image to Text
Select Submit
All those pictures look alike, yes they do to me anyway.
Double check to be sure it matches exactly what is written across the top of your machine and you select the correct equipment and mask. The make & model of the mask are on a tag on the back of the Headgear and in the included brochures.

Its a user configurable setting. Look under preferences.
GumbyCT wrote:By default Encore Pro will erase your card, it is the erasing of the card which creates new interactions.
Actually the interaction is a result of the download, not erasing. Any download will create a new interaction entry.
