I would doubt that insurance would care, however the sleep doctor might.

We hear stories of doctors that are fine with the patient making changes and hear stories of doctors dumping patients for making changes.

We are not able what kind of doctor she has, and she has a doctor that would dump her, how easily she could find another sleep doctor.

Again, it is her decision to make.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that your insce. co. will ever, ever be made aware that you changed your pressure. Your MD might or might not appreciate that it was done, but generally the only information given to the insce. is 'compliance', whether or not you're using the machine at all. I believe most of us learn to change our pressures fairly early on, especially if we're using the software, and I've never heard of anyone having insce. issues as a result. In fact the only 'third party' feedback that is heard seems to be the occasional MD who, when made aware that the patient is actually participating in their own care, seems to be pleasantly surprised!
