I have found that since using my machine and mask, I do not get up at night to go to the bathroom. However, I still do not sleep well - waking several times to look at the clock, etc.

I think the waking problem does not have anything to do with OSA, but just plain ole can't sleep syndrome. My mind races at night, and even though the doctor has me on an anti-depresant for OCD, I cannot think of one night that I have sleep all the way through.

The CPAP therapy keeps me breathing at night, but does not put you to sleep, or keep you there. That is another problem.

I would talk with my doctor about something to help you get to sleep and stay asleep.

Good luck

somer -- I feel for you.

Yesterday I had two cortisone shots in my foot and didn't sleep worth a hoot last night - don't know if it was because of the shots are the Aleve I took or a combination. I only slept a couple of hours and plan on taking nap this afternoon.

You could always have a prostrate or bladder problem. Everything is cured or related to cpap. A lot of people have a somewhat enlarged prostrate. A little makes a difference. Mine was a little enlarged and take a little pill to control it. But I still get up at night to pee as well. Best wishes.

I'm on the same page as skittles, never up out of bed, but awake many times each night despite good cpap stats, perhaps upon my demise I will rest uninterrupted if I'm lucky.
Good luck Happy New Year

I noticed that I was still waking up at my "regular" times, about 2am and 4am, the difference was did not have to go to the bathroom. I think I have been conditioned to wake up at those times.

HOWEVER, last night for the first time in years, I did not get up at allllllllll.........YAY

First two nights, I slept through the night....but, since then I'm up around 2am, 5am, ...8am.... (work week alarm is 6am, I used to sleep in to like noon on weekends...but this [long] weekend, I just get up at the around 8am waking)

I so much want to get back to what I had the first couple of nights. But, too much has probably changed to figure it out easily....or it could just be my nose soreness is pushed through the need for sleep...

I do have to use the bathroom when I get up...and sometimes I need a sip of water....

Though probably the biggest change is the addition of the heated humidifier....which has increased the amount of noise the machine makes (I can hear the sound change with my breathing in and out)....

The Dreamer.

I've always gotten up during the night, even as a kid. Since I started CPAP I've been going through different sleep cycles, and while some nights I can go 4-5 hours without getting up, I'm usually up every 3 hours like clockwork. If the cats don't wake me up, mask leaks do. Maybe if I ever get a mask that doesn't leak into my eyes, I will be able to go a whole night. Like DebJax, though, I don't have to go to the bathroom when I wake up anymore, not like before I started CPAP therapy.
