Hi everyone,
I used to have mine on the night stand by my bed, but I am a side sleeper and it was not working that well for me, as it was above my head. I found a small square plexiglass stand to place it on next to my night stand--about 5 inches up off the floor. It works perfect for me---my hose can hang down the side of the bed and the machine is up off the floor. So I solved the problem of not wanting to place it on the rug by my bed etc. Now if I could stop my kitten from jumping on the start button on occasion and turning it on --and OFF----that would be fabulous!!
Merry Christmas to all --
Carrie

The machine was not in it's FengShui position,
to be in harmony w/you.
When you moved it, that was changed and now
you, the machine and the Universe are in harmony.
Well now that's probably true, but here in the backwoods we call it "just dumb luck". When we get dumb luck we just take it and we be very happy with it.
(Lamar just told me feng shui originated in backwoods China so maybe it is all coming around to the same thing anyway.)
Bucko, if you do any traveling you might want to lug that nightstand along.

If I sleep out and put the machine on the floor I get alot of rainout. When I have it on a stand at home it doesn't happen? What causes this rainout? Is it the location of the machine?

What do you mean by "sleep out"? We need to know all the variables that change when you "sleep out" in order to give you specific answers.
Placing the machine on the floor is a technique people sometimes use to allow rainout to run downhill back into the humidifier instead of into the mask.
The first steps that should be taken to prevent or manage rainout are:
-use a hose cover
-place the machine below the level of your head and position the hose so that any water will run toward the machine (humidifier tank) and away from the mask.

With it up off the floor dust bunnies and cats can't block the intake. Jim

Could it be that it makes a different sound on the table than on the floor. Or the temperature of the air
or air quality on the floor may be a little different than being on a table.

I think you are on to something. I had a similar situation where I was on a Church retreat and shared a room with three other people. I was REALLY nervous about snoring and the sound of my machine. So I hid it behind my suitcase...and slept like I never had before! It was wonderful. I am trying this at home now trying to find a better place to set my machine. I think it is the noise that is keeping me conscious of my breathing while I try to go to sleep.
