Thank you for sharing this sad news. Snoredog was brilliant in his knowledge of CPAP therapy and generous of spirit for those who were struggling.

He was completely right on so many times, saying just the very thing that someone needed to hear in order to get through a tough time. His passion was evident in his posts and his contribution to this family will be hard to replace.

He will be missed for years. And Someday Science WILL catch up to what he was saying, but it will be a while yet.

I am so sorry for your loss, he truly loved his family.

I am so sorry for you and your familys loss. They say the body dies but the spirt remains in the memorys and hearts of people who the departed left behind. Your father will remain here with us for years to come. Even people who did not "know "
him will know of him.

Snoredog (John) will be missed! His intelligence, honesty, and wonderful wiliness to share this with us was truly amazing. He took so much thought and time to share his expertise with us and to take your issue as his own and to answer whatever question you might have had. I have one of his old apap machines which has made such a difference in my life. He not only sold it to me, but spent endless, patient, hours helping me get the settings just right for me.

My condolences to John's family. He will truly be missed but always be a part of this wonderful family here at cpaptalk.com

Snoredog certainly is one of the people on this forum who helped make my therapy a success. The knowledge and advice John gave in this forum will continue on for many years in helping new hoseheads understand and succeed with XPAP treatment. Condolences to his family. Thank you John. I did not always agree with the way Snoredog reacted and responded, at times, to people on this forum but I did respect, and appreciate his knowledge and all the help he gave to people here over many years.

You will always be remembered, and missed, here. Rest in Peace, Snoredog.

I had wondered where he had been the last week. This makes me sad to hear. He helped so many of us sharing the knowledge he had.

What sad news! Snoredog was such an important part of this forum, it's hard to imagine him not in the background checking facts and helping people to understand their data--and of course offering his opinions.

My heart goes out to you on the loss of your father at such a young age. Although I never met him face-to-face, I shed some tears hearing of his death. When I first started my cpap therapy he was one of the most helpful on this forum to me personally. He was knowledgable about many things and I marvelled at the number of times he posted to help others. He helped me diagnose and fix a machine that I bought second-hand, including technical instructions about how to take it apart that included pictures. He helped me understand my initial test results and the data charts from my machine. He helped (via my postings) when a friend of mine with a cpap was stranded in a cabin without internet access and had a technical problem with his machine. These are just a few of the times that he helped me directly. He was creative, intelligent, practical, and extremely generous with his time. His toughness combined with his service to the community here conveyed a message that I took to heart: people MATTER, their health matters, don't mess around with it!

People are irreplaceable, and with John that is especially obvious. Sometime in the future, when your grief is less, you may want to take a look at the posts he made on this forum to see the scope of the help he provided. That help was magnified many times when you include the additional people who read these messages and learn from them. I hope you find comfort in knowing how he made a difference in the world represented by this forum.

Oh my god. What a sad shock. I'm so sorry for your loss, Cristen and Ali. That is just way too young.

Please take some comfort in knowing that although your father is no longer with us in body, he lives on through this forum. His advice will continue to help thousands of struggling CPAP users. Through the "magic" of the internet, he will remain instrumental in helping save lives, even though he has moved on.

If you care to post a photo of him here, I'm sure many of us would love to see a picture of this man who was so devoted to this cause.

Dear Cristen and Ali, Gizmo, and all of John's family -

John (snoredog) was a very special guy, and he helped so many people on this forum, including me. He reminded me a lot of my own dad, who passed away 4 years ago from cancer, at the young age of 54. I know from personal experience it's not easy to lose a loved one, especially when they still had so many good years in front of them. But I always think that people like my dad and your dad - they lived such full and rich lives that they actually managed to live more in their 50 short years than others have in a lifetime. The emptiness that you're feeling - it gets easier over time. I still have the urge to call up my dad any time something exciting or sad happens in my life, but then I just send him my thoughts and I know he's there, watching over us (even though I don't believe in heaven).

May you find comfort in each other, may you find peace over time, and may you rejoice over what a wonderful person he was (and still is, in all of our hearts). I'm sorry that I didn't know him well, as most of the people here, but I hope you don't mind that we share your sorrow.

I have been wondering for more than a week now where snoredog was. I am very saddened that this was the reason. Thank you for thinking of us, and taking the time and effort to post his passing away here. Thank you also to cpaptalk for putting this at the top so the thread would not be missed by anyone!
