Your father did not know me, being new here and since I mostly read the postings, but I have read many of his responses. Your father was wonderful, very helpful and knowledgeable. Because he shared his insight, I have adjusted well to CPAP.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.

While Snoredog and I were at odds over a few things, I deeply valued and respected him, his knowledge, energy and willingness to help others achieve success in fighting Sleep Disordered Breathing. Cantankerous maybe, but he will be fondly remembered as a large part of my success - I owe him much.

My heartfelt condolences to all of his family, friends and the others of this community who depended upon him for reliable guidance.

R.I.P John.... we'll spar gingerly again, when I get evicted from here.

Like everyone else, I'm still in shock! Snoredog has helped me and I am currently following his instructions. I broke down when I read of his passing. It is so hard to believe it. Snoredog was right there to help anyone who needed it and he will be sorely missed. I wanted (like everyone) to believe this was just a joke and that Snoredog would post again shortly.

To SnoreDogs girls, you had a great Dad who had a big heart for helping others. He was loved on this forum. To Snoredogs mom, my heart goes out to you for the loss of your son. Your son helped and blessed a whole lot of people and was respected by all.

Thanks for the memorial link for the guestbook, Den.

This forum will always have an empty spot where SnoreDog was. Maybe, as someone suggested we could have a memorial page for forum members who have passed on with their name and a photo and a profile in honor of them.

Anne

I know there are no words for this time..... none to say... none to hear.

I will simply leave my deepest condolences.

I was on a ten day cruise when the news of Snoredog's passing came out. I got back late on Monday night, so didn't get a chance to check the forum until Tuesday. I'm still in shock and am so sad. I've been trying to catch up on the news but can't find out how it happened. Was he awake or sleeping? Does anyone know?

As you all know, Snoredog was very instrumental in getting me started in sorting out my various sleep issues. I learned so much from his explanations, not just to me, but to hundreds of others. I'm very grateful for the time he spent helping me. What a kind and knowledgeable man he was. I had no idea that he was younger than I am!

I have an appointment with a cardiologist on Tuesday. I hope that he is familiar with the damage that years of untreated sleep apnea can do to the heart and knows what to look for.

May you rest in peace, Snoredog. God knows you didn't have much peace on this earth. I miss you already.

The board has not been the same in my opinion... I am still in shock and curious about the details?

RIP Snoredog

I disagree. The board is still the same helpful, compassionate, learned place it has always been. We just don't have Snoredog helping out any longer....
Snoredog was a very learned, important part of this forum for a long time, but there are many others who will offer the same and sometimes better advice - and I won't mention any names for fear I'll leave some out -- you all know who you are.
Snoredog will live on in this forum as long as it is here -- just look into the archives and search on "Snoredog"......

As with any loss of this magnitude, we will grieve, we will make our thoughts and feelings known as this thread has shown, and we will move on -- unfortunately, this time, without Snoredog.
I hope that Snorepup and SnoreDDS have found some solace, smiles and "yeah, it figures" out of this thread and know that their dad was loved and held in high regard by this family -- and always will be......

As I said in an earlier post, "Those that have passed are not gone. They're just not here"............

cheers

I have not been on the forum for some weeks, and was shocked to find this thread. Cristen and Ali, my sincere apologies for your loss. Your father provided much valuable advice and assistance in his years on this forum, and his wisdom, shock tactics and advice will be greatly missed. The poem below is a favourite of mine, and I think whilst it may not be as easy as this for those who remain behind, the message and sentiment are lovely.

"Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let my name be spoken without effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolutely unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before, only better; infinitely happier and forever."

Cristen and Ali, Please accept my sincere condolences. And thank you for taking the trouble to post the sad news of your father's passing on the board here.

Your father was a great help to me especially in the early days of my therapy when I had so many questions to ask. Nothing was too much trouble for him to explain if I asked a specific question in "his" field, or if he felt I needed to understand something. He gave the impression of being a passionate and helpful, albeit rather driven man who had been through a lot in life and took pride in surviving.

I lost my own beloved father some years ago, and though I never stop missing him, I am still consoled in the sense of his presence when I'm feeling down, and the sense of his wisdom or humour catching me by surprise. I hope you find similar consolation as time passes, in very real living memories of your beloved father.

regards

Di
