When I see you politely deploy words like "nursing" and "mothers" I get the vague impression you think I might have overlooked something in my careful analysis. I'll be the first to admit that oversights can occur even for the world's best business and marketing researchers...

We always keep an overnight bag packed in the closet by the front door, for those rare emergency hospital visits. I have already placed a printout of your above two posts in our overnight hospital bag. The next time I am in the hospital, I am going to show both of your posts to the nurses there who happen to also be mothers. Maybe they will have a better idea of what you might be trying to tell me.

In the meantime let's assume elader's best hope for landing a tube of that elusive nipple creme is going to be at a Walgreen's in one of the purple states up North.

In the SECOND place, a couple of things came to mind as I read your reply. That you missed a great opportunity when you didn't go into politics (that's a lot of words for saying nothing); and that at least the rest of the bovine population is now accounted for, because what you said was pure, unadulterated BULL!!!

Eric, since I'm from one of those purple states that He Who Says Too Much And Nothing, All At The Same Time alluded to, I'll gladly pick up some Bag Balm for you, or even some of that Sissy A$$ed Lansenoh Lanolin if you'd prefer (oh, yeah!! "Sissy A$$ed" is part of its official name -- you didn't know that??). I could meet you and your wife in Gettysburg, which I think is no more than two hours from anywhere in MD and is just that far fom here. There's a great restaurant there, and we could have a good meal together and gossip about the crazy people at cpaptalk.

In reading this its time to think .." Now lets see how and where did all this start". First you make me promise, and I'm quoting here, "for all of recorded history, or at least until next Tuesday" that I will NEVER divulge the name of the troubador-like NYC resident who might have given me a series of ten digits with which to contact some hunky hunk and hire him to skulk, with a pictorial recording device in hand, around some eating establishment in Maryland that for some unknown reason reveres owls and also to be available for a similar future assignment at the Dobbin House Tavern in Gettysburg (in the cellar dining room, which is SO much cooler than upstairs, and cheaper, too). Is this the same Marsha who laughed in the outrageous Man Cave thread? As jnk correctly pointed out, there is no such comparison in my post. There is only intended humor based in an entire string of unbelievably absurd oversights. Nobody suspects that a left and right AstroGlide is necessary. Nobody suspects that a rail industry map of cattle is going to accurately portray anything whatsoever about Walgreens products. I am amazed that anyone would convert those obviously nonsensical comments into serious parallels. I guess I might have better anticipated where you seemed to be heading in this thread when you started referring to people as "idiots" and "sissy ass" as far back as page 3.

I think that reference doesn't fit -SWS but probably does fit some other people I can think of on this board.
Personally I didn't really get your jokes from the last few posts, it really did sound like you were truly offended by what SWS wrote.
But I think you're great and usually quite hilarious and funny, so maybe we can just chalk this all up to misunderstanding due to the lack of verbal cues and body language inherent in any online communication? Either that or the weird alignment in the stars these last few weeks!

No, Echo, you haven't offended me; not even a little bit. In fact, I appreciate very much that you had the kindness and honesty to ask if there was a chance of a misunderstanding instead of merely assuming you knew what I meant, as others have done. Thank you.

I wasn't offended by anything that SWS wrote. I truly thought we were having fun. I know my sense of humor can be off the wall, but I thought that SWS (who has a similar sense of humor) understood what I was saying and was just throwing more of the same back. I even had what I thought was a good reason for thinking that. You might recall the “Turn Out Those Blue Lights For Good” thread from back in August. In it, I let my wackiness go a little nuts, and some thought I was being angry, nasty, etc. This is from that thread:

Echo (and anyone else to whom this applies), I also apologize to you for having caused distress and/or offense. Had I thought there was the vaguest chance of that happening, I wouldn't have done it. I was wrong, and I am very sorry.
