I have pointed out several times that about the oxygen on the report, but kaiser continues to say I do not need it. I do have copies of my PFT and will post them.

Oh, that's where you got that "lungs of a 71 year old" thing from. "Lung Age" is not a real parameter, and only relates to smokers.

Screening spirometry really isn't helpful, you need Lung Volumes and Diffusion.

PM sent.

Dan, did you have supplemental oxygen during ANY of the studies?
Do you have the results of the PFT? You live in Denver, huh? The "Mile High City", as it were? That's significant, gotta calculate that variable in, too.
No Supplemental oxygen was used during any of the sleep test. Also, I have not had a PFT or any of the other test requested by the first sleep lab. I spoke with my PCP and she will look in to it for me, but can not make any changes for me.

Oh horsepuckies! My family doctor was the first one to order an overnight oximetry for me. He also was the one to order overnight 02 for me. And he was the one to order my first full PFT.

This is the bad part about having kaiser. It is respiratory that is the only ones that can order oxygen and cpap machines.

You know what, an overnight oximetry doesn't cost all that much. Maybe $65 maximum, if that. I'd pay the money for an office call w/a doctor outside of Kaiser, I'd take in that PFT and sleep study recommending 02 and ask that doctor to script an overnight oximetry. And a second office call to get a script for 02 (if warranted) and I'd take THAT back to Kaiser.

Isn't there an appeals process you can go thru when you are denied necessary care and coverage??
