Well, at the rate we're going here's the way I think our forum is going to have to bill out:
"A forum dedicated to all things CPAP and Coprolalia."

I think you'd miss too many great posts if you put yourself on that list.

I think you're right about where Snoredog was directing the bulk of his vomit, and you're right about musicman/BallBuster's ridiculously irrational tantrum.
However, what Snoredog displayed in all his foulmouthed "glory" was inexcusable behavior. He wasn't talking just about MM/BB. He was using his well honed bully tactics to try to intimidate
any newcomer who might offer a suggestion about the board. There are better, more welcoming ways to respond to those suggestions.
I sure don't share Snoredog's opinion.
My opinion:
1. Newcomers are very welcome here.
2. Newcomers are
most welcome to post their opinions, suggestions, ideas at ANY time,
including when they first arrive here.
3. Newcomers should be aware that Snoredog is, unfortunately, a regular poster on this board. I've seen him in action here, and in the past as "dizzy" on the TalkAboutSleep board, for so many years that I'm used to what he spews. Always sorry to see it though, as I'm sure his ugly, bullying behavior intimidates and drives away a great many people who are visiting cpaptalk.com for the first time.
A word to new people reading this thread. I hope you won't be intimidated by the few "Snoredog"s you come across here. Please know that if you'll ignore Snoredog you'll find
many people on this board who can give you much sounder information and better support than he dishes out.
The majority of people here really are interested in learning and sharing ways to make cpap treatment better/easier.
It's a great place to learn about cpap treatment. And about human nature.
My feelings 1,000%
Thank you, rested gal, for voicing what I was keeping quiet about. In several of my posts regarding the ridiculous posts of BB or whatever his name is, I had mentioned some posters that almost made me leave in the beginning, even though the posts were not directed at me personally. (I was trying to point out that there was nothing wrong with JNK's posts, although sometimes others on here could get a little mean-spirited.) Snoredog was one. I've since learned to take the great advice of ignoring certain posts when necessary, and just moving on to the helpful ones. I have a good sense of humor, but there is a line. If are truly here to help each other, and new people out there desperate for help and answers--like I think we are--just try to think of what a newcomer may feel, coming here desperate for help, scared, not knowing where to turn---and then reading something like that?
Yeah, BB/Musicman was WAY out of line, but responding in kind, or worse, does nothing but feed his agenda, and possibly chase others away that could really use our help.
plr66 wrote: <snip> I just cannot believe that SnoreDog's crap can be justified as somehow on a higher level.
I don't think it can, not honestly, anyway.

I think these are the truest words spoken in this thread, except IMO they're not true for just "a few of us," but for all of us at one time or another. They certainly are true for me. The past couple of days have been a lesson/reminder for me about how contagious anger and hate can be, yet how buying into it is a choice that I, myself, make. Nobody makes me do it. Trust me, although I managed (for once) to keep my words peaceful, I've been anything but peaceful inside, so I'm feeling anything but saintly about my own reactions.
I know it's still relatively early in a large part of the country, but it's bedtime for Bonzo here. Perhaps we could all get some good rest tonight, put this awful episode behind us and get a fresh start tomorrow. I for one am going to try to do just that. I hope that others will be also try to put aside the insults and all of the other hatefulness and get back to making this forum the great place it can be. (Yeah, I do play the Glad Game. Oddly enough, it does work sometimes. )

You frigging newbies take your whiny asses over to sleepapnea.org or talkaboutsleep.com but get the hell out of here! you come here for 2 damn days make 3 posts, all of that whining, complaining and crying and the next day you want to re-design the damn board.
Well guess what newbie? you sorry SOB's the world don't revolve around you. Your mother may have waited on you hand and foot, but we don't do that crap here, we only help those that wanting and willing to help themselves.
but those of us that like it here are sick and tired of hearing about all your damn whining and complaining wacked out messages like that
dumbass MusicMan and ballbuster, same asshole with a different name. You guys should have saved your money on the machine and got your friggin head examined you could have had money left over to feed your fat ass at McDonalds.
Grow some balls and act like an adult or get hell out of here as we don't need your whiny ass. IF you think we are going to wait on you like your mother boy have you got your damn head screwed on backwards.
Atta boy you fat old spoiled fart. You tell 'em. And meanwhile why don't you stuff your friggin CPAP hose up your ass and turn the pressure on 15? As much hot air that comes out of your fat beer drinking ass could heat the whole city of New York. If you don't get your fat ass in line around here, I'm going to be busting some balls - and they ain't gonna be mine. You got that you fat wind bag? I don't give a damn how much time you have wasted on this forum, or how many posts you have. You're nothing but a fat old blowhard who needs to shut his fat ass up.

But, I think that the bulk of Snoredog's "dialogue" was aimed at MusicMan/BallBuster. And, personally, after watching that little "tantrum" for the last two days......I'd had about all I could handle without blowing my stack, too. Hahahaha! Do you really believe that bullshit you are spewing? This forum is a joke. The way you allow that old fat ass SnoreDog and other smartasses on here talk to people... and then you expect them to be polite in return? That is a myth my boy. This place is going to be a revolving door as long as you let people slam each other - period. I'm not the first person who has an issue with this. I've heard long lists on names that you people think are me... and I am only two of them. I tried to come in here with my polite face on aka MusicMan... but I was not properly dressed for what goes on here. I had to come back with my badass outfit on... because it's easy to see that it's a streetfight around here... and I don't take no shit from anybody. You don't take a pocket knife to a gunfight, and there's obviously been bullets flying around here long before I showed up - not just eggs and tomatoes.
Got that meter maid? You made a fool out of your own self every time you opened your mouth to me. I don't play that newbie-initiation bullshit. You swing shit at me (aka eggs and tomatoes), you will be catching that shit right back in your face. The joke is on your ass.
You people need to respect the damn newbies who come in here and not shit on and mock them, or you will continually have eruptions like this one. I don't give a damn if you've been using a CPAP for 30 years. That doesn't make you an expert who can talk down to people. If you want to talk that shit to me - you picked the wrong person. I hope this shit wakes the people in charge up around here. This should not be a damn elitist forum. If you want it to be, I can play that game with you. This is happening. The BallBuster is busting some balls.

RG, you said so well jut what I was thinking. Thank you for your sensibility! I've said it before: You and Ozij were so kind and helpful to me when I first started CPAP treatment. I felt immediately welcomed and I would like that for others who join us if they truly desire to be a part of this forum. And I'm also thankful for the computer technical support from other members who remained patient when I was ready to throw my comp into the swimming pool.
I realize that this forum looks less organized than some of the others, but I really have come to like it this way because I don't have to go through several different thread to check all the subjects. It's all just there in one list and I can read what looks interesting to me. It's pretty simple to skip the threads that you don't want to read.
The other forums are also excellent, but this one remains number one for me!

"A forum dedicated to all things CPAP, Coprolalia, and especially voluntary swearing."

How about this:
"A forum dedicated to all things CPAP that encourages rudeness and infighting by allowing a free-for-all format with little or no moderation."
I think that fits better.

That's a good one too... but you need to let people know to prepare for battle before they come here.

Not really. In the four months I've been here, you've brought the only drama we've had when you went off the deep end after misinterpreting someone's comments. <sigh>

I figured out a long time ago that a voice of reason in some circumstances is wasted on the unreasonable. This is one of those times. I am not inclined to "make nice" right now. I am inclined to say I don't appreciate those who choose to disrespect the many in a personal battle. In no other venue would I find it acceptable for someone to spew profanities and obscenities in total disregard of my presence. It isn't about just don't read the threads. It's about a reasonable expectation of common courtesy in a public place. Enough already.

Amen Sister. No making nice. Either play nice or we bust some balls around here people. Got that?
