plr66 wrote:What a great discovery. I've just found that you can remove and block all posts of an individual, by going to User Control Panel, then the tab called "Friends/Foes"--hit the tab for "Managing Foes," and type in the user name of that special someone. Click "Yes I'm Sure" in the final box, and it's done. If a PM arrives from this individual, you can simply delete without ever reading it. Poof!--They're completely gone!!
I encourage all to do this rather than feed the sickness with responses of any kind. Who needs abuse from anyone such as this?
I'd never bothered to use it before, and had actually forgotten about it. But I now find it works delightfully! Their posts are blocked from view so you never have to read them!! Outta sight, outta mind!
Thanks!

There is another method....read and move on. I too have had my days where I have reacted in a way that I shouldn't have. Sometimes folks like to bait us into an argument. Maybe we all should practice the "let it sit for awhile and consider is it worth it to post a toxic or negative response?"
I do think some behaviour on-line should be noted and called out. However, if you wish to block someone, so be it, but remember two folks that were prominently listed in this thread, both do provide valuable information so if you decide to block any user from your perusal, you may be blocking their potential and helpful information. Life is full of distasteful and hate filled rhetoric.
Maybe we need to grow some thicker skin or learn to shrug our shoulders and move on.
Perhaps the Admins need to be a bit more active in taking those members to task for personal attacks (I am not talking about voicing personal opinions, but hateful and malicious comments.
The nice thing about a democracy is that now you can know tell me how wrong I am!

Look, I'm new to this forum, and I find the sniping a bit disturbing,so I'd like to put my very humble opinion.
I thought the whole purpose of this forum is all about collective self help. I've read heaps of posts from lots of people, and my over riding impression is that there are lots of lovely, caring people out there who are ever willing to help others with their knowledge and experience. isn't this the very essence of civilisation (just like ants???) So, all of you people out there, yes every one of you, pat yourself on the back; you are all fantastic.
Let's not spoil it with angry words, banning people, retaliating etc. Just remember that the people who are posting flames are only doing it because they have a problem. it's their problem, not yours. Don't get drawn into it, don't try to get them blocked. Just IGNORE them. Pretend the post doesn't exist. Don't mention it,refer to it, reply to it, just get on with the business of being fantastic, loving, caring people.
Thanks to everyone

I agree, but I also notice that a lot of regulars who are patting themselves on the back for being so great are the same people starting flame wars and fights. There's been a lot of ego stroking, gossiping, paranoid accusations, threads being hijacked, uncalled for hostility, and outright anti-newbie sentiment. It's extremely disappointing. Ah heck, don't listen to me, just go read Hawthorne's post again, he is spot on.

Thank you, Stacia. I know how you feel. Dori - Yes, I am a "she" but it does keep them guessing!! I kind of like that!

stacia123 -No need to apologize! I hardly ever notice those either! Some Usernames, like mine, don't give any clues!

Browser, just another crazy cat lover heard from here - I found myself watching your avatar (your cat?) over and over like a nut this a.m! Maybe because my guys are being obnoxious here and forgot about being cute .
