First night went ok. Definitely felt better than usual in the morning. I found that I woke up a lot when the machine kicked in with pressure support, which seemed often. This seemed to happen even when I wasn't asleep (or maybe just in stage 1 or 2 as I never seem to feel like I am asleep when in those stages) So I am tried from the many awakenings.

Also had the Apnea alarm go off once and wake me up. Its currently set to 20s so I am thinking I might need to bump that up a bit?

I'll post the data results as soon as I can get them pulled off the card. (I just upgraded to an early version of Windows 7 and have been unable to get my card reader to work yet)

I found that I could sleep better without the alarms going off You can disable them entirely. The machine will kick in when needed and you don't need to be awakened for that. Defeats the purpose, don't you think?

Not having standard CPAP or anything to compare it with, I've been finding it fairly easy to adjust, once I got all the !@#$#@! alarms turned down. As I told the RT, if the object of this exercise is uninterrupted sleep, having one or the other alarms going off every few minutes isn't going to cut it.

Yeah eventually I couldn't take it any longer... I was going to my girlfriends place this afternoon so I took my smart reader and software and loaded it on her laptop so that I could take a peek. Here are the results:

One thing that I am confused about is the alarm that I experienced during the night... I don't see what caused it by looking at the report?

Ok, now crank IPAPmin to 13. And give yourself some extra ceiling, raise IPAPmax to 25.

Given that I have been averaging 30 apneas per night (many probably centrals) over the past year I was pretty shocked to see a value of zero apneas Can't wait to see if I have a repeat performance tonight.

[Now if I could just get my nose functioning again so that I didn't have to breath through my mouth... I have a nasal surgery date for January 9th in Ohio. (Otherwise I would have to wait until July 2009 here in Canada) I find mouth only breathing hard at night, as soon as I start to fall asleep my mouth just tends to want to close...]

Me thinks you are a tad high on pressure, I'd move the whole profile down by 1 cm,
that will still allow IPAP to go to 19.
