I don't know if it's Federal Law or not, but in illinois he can get his license pulled if he refuses to give you the script.

I feel for you. I am going through something similar. I don't think I could tolerate a doctor that does not give you the respect you deserve. I switched doctors in a heartbeat myself. I think med schools need to start requiring courses in people skills. God knows there seem to be a good many of them that need it.

Oh, they have people skills. How else could they intimidate you to do whatever they want you to do?
Elader: I wonder if meeting this doctor with bunch of legislational papers in your hand has any effect.
Just to show the doctor-all-mighty that you are aware of the legislation (and maybe some hinting of making
a complaint).

Ahhhhh! God bless our family doctors, the REAL heroes of medicine. At least the good ones are. I know I rely most on my family doctor and was VERY careful picking a new one when my family doctor of many years died. Doctor-shopping can get darn expensive but its worth it when you finally find a good one.
I suspect MOST sleep medicine doctors are a disappointment. For one at first we most likely expect them to know the capabilities of all the various fully data capable xPAPs. And once you think about it, that is an unreasonable expectation. BUT the "enlightened" ones do at least make use of more than just the compliance data from our downloads from the fully data capable xPAPs. Those that don't .... are a huge disappointment, but, par for the course, run-of-the-mill, dime-a-dozen, practitioners of the "cash cow" of sleep medicine.
